– Hanoi tourism continues to affirm its impressive growth momentum with more than 28 million visitors in 10 months, up nearly 22% over the same period. From building new products, promoting digital transformation to promoting creativity, the capital's tourism industry is accelerating to prepare for the peak season at the end of the year.

International visitors increase sharply, tourism products are constantly innovated
The average room occupancy rate of hotels reached nearly 60%, clearly reflecting the revival of accommodation activities. The whole city currently has 3,761 accommodation establishments with more than 71 thousand rooms, of which 85 hotels are ranked from 1 to 5 stars, contributing to improving service quality, meeting the diverse needs of tourists. The standard service system including 58 establishments for dining, shopping, entertainment, and health care is increasingly being improved, helping tourists have a more complete experience when coming to Hanoi.
Notably, travel agencies continue to play a key role in connecting the market and creating new customer streams. As of mid-October, Hanoi had 2,687 travel agencies, including 2,101 international agencies, along with more than 9,500 tour guides operating – a testament to the vitality of the capital’s tourism ecosystem.
Along with market activities, state management work has also been systematically implemented. In October, the Hanoi Department of Tourism submitted to the City People's Committee many important documents, including Submission No. 61/TTr-SDL on economic and technical standards for public services in the tourism sector. At the same time, the Department issued a series of plans to update accommodation facilities data, deploy the Campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" in the tourism sector, supplement the tourism development plan for 2026 and propose to host the National Tourism Year 2026.

Regional linkage, new product development
With a long-term vision, Hanoi is gradually shifting from breadth to depth. Ms. Dang Huong Giang, Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism, said: In October, the Department of Tourism has continuously implemented plans to build night experience tourism products at the special national relic Soc Temple (Soc Son) and a community tourism model associated with the traditional culture of ethnic minorities in Yen Xuan commune. These are two products expected to create a new mark, contributing to extending the length of stay of tourists and increasing spending at the destination.
In addition, Hanoi has expanded cooperation with the provinces in the Southwest region through the 2025 Tourism Development Cooperation and Promotion Program, affirming its role as a regional linkage center in national tourism development. Many training and capacity building activities for the community have also been implemented, especially at community tourism destinations such as Muong Coc (My Duc), helping local people become the main actors in the process of sustainable tourism development.
Promotion and advertising activities continue to be strengthened, with dozens of articles, reports, and news spreading the image of Hanoi on major media channels. The Department of Tourism has proactively provided information to the central and international press, to introduce the industry's new plans, strategies, and growth orientations. In parallel, the "Quintessence Convergence" communication campaign launched in October has created a positive effect, promoting three typical tourism products of Hanoi, combining cultural, creative, and experiential elements.
The bustling festival atmosphere also contributes to the special attraction of tourism in the capital. The World Cultural Festival in Hanoi alone attracted more than 1 million visitors, including a large number of international visitors. At the same time, the programs "Vietnamese Ao Dai", "World Cultural Day", "Hanoi Autumn Festival" affirmed Hanoi's brand as an event city, bringing heritage and traditional culture together in a modern tourist space.
On social networks, the official Facebook page of the Hanoi Department of Tourism attracted more than 6,000 followers, with 26 posts in October promoting the city's image, spreading the message of green, creative and integrated tourism.
Accelerating digital transformation, preparing for the two peak months at the end of the year
One of the remarkable marks of Hanoi tourism industry in recent times is the strong and in-depth digital transformation. The Department of Tourism has continuously issued documents in coordination with the Department of Science and Technology, to promote tasks on innovation, science - technology and the "Digital Education for All" movement throughout the area. This is an important step, contributing to the digitalization of industry data, improving management efficiency, and bringing convenience to tourists and businesses.
According to Ms. Dang Huong Giang: November 2025 is identified as the key time of the year, when Hanoi enters the peak tourist season. According to the plan, the Department of Tourism will organize a series of activities such as the Hanoi Autumn Festival, the 2025 Ao Dai Festival, along with survey programs connecting destinations between travel businesses and localities. In particular, the project to innovate the management model, preserve and promote the value of the special national relic site of Huong Son (Huong Pagoda) will be submitted to the City People's Committee for consideration and approval, promising to create a turning point in the development of spiritual and ecological tourism in the capital.
New products such as Soc Temple night tour, agricultural tourism in Bat Trang and Ung Thien, community tourism in Yen Xuan are being completed to soon launch to tourists. Along with that, training and education activities to improve the quality of destinations are still maintained, ensuring the best preparation for the year-end tourist season.
From impressive growth figures to a series of new tourism products, Hanoi is proving its position as the center of Vietnam's tourism industry - a place where cultural quintessence, innovation and the desire to reach international standards are crystallized. With this acceleration, the year-end tourist season promises to be a springboard for the capital to make a strong breakthrough in 2026 - the year that Hanoi hopes to host the National Tourism Year.
