Applying science and technology to effectively exploit the potential and strengths of Soc Trang

NDO - On March 19, the Steering Committee on Science and Technology Development, Innovation and Digital Transformation of Soc Trang province held its first meeting.

The conference heard reports on the preparation work and draft documents related to the implementation of the Steering Committee's activities; Approved the Steering Committee's Working Regulations and assigned tasks to members; The Steering Committee's Working Program for 2025; Deployed key contents of the Steering Committee's 2025 Plan.

Speaking at the conference, Central Party Committee member and Soc Trang Provincial Party Secretary Lam Van Man called on the entire political system of the province to identify science and technology development, innovation and digital transformation as important tasks of the country and the province, starting in 2025 and continuing in the following years.

The implementation needs to focus on key points, emphasizing the core contents assigned in Resolution No. 57 of the Politburo and Decision No. 204 of the Secretariat approving the Digital Transformation Project in Party agencies.

Steering Committee members need to proactively develop personal work programs and plans to carry out assigned tasks.

Actively digitize administrative processes and procedures, and connect data. Build performance measurement indexes (KPIs) in assigning tasks and managing on a digital platform for each cadre, civil servant, and public employee.

Prioritize smart agriculture combined with digital transformation. Implement research topics and projects, apply science and technology to increase added value for key local products such as rice, shrimp, fruit, shallots, etc.

Support businesses in applying technology in production, cleaner production, applying ISO standards in operations, traceability, and intellectual property protection. Bring 100% of the province's existing OCOP products to e-commerce platforms and support business owners with online sales skills.

Investing in facilities and equipment to improve research and development (R&D) capacity for the Digital Technology Center and the Science, Technology and Innovation Service Center of the province,

Thereby creating a foundation for providing science-technology, innovation and digital transformation services of the province to businesses, organizations in the province and connections outside the province.

Proactively deploy key tasks of 2025; urgently complete 31 tasks set by the People's Committee of Soc Trang province in the first quarter of 2025.
