Ho Chi Minh Road is congested and cannot be used for traffic.
Specifically, 3 locations Km1409+270, Km1421+835, Km1415+830 on Ho Chi Minh road in Dak Plo commune, Quang Ngai province. The volume of landslides is from 400-1,500m3.
Km1448+740 Ho Chi Minh road in Dak Pek commune, Quang Ngai province, landslide from positive slope overflowed onto the road surface causing complete traffic jam, estimated volume of about 850m3.
Locations Km1415+900 and Km1408+100 are still not open to traffic.
Recently, at 11am, Km1409+300/HCM and Km1418+180 HCM in Dak Plo commune, Quang Ngai province continued to have a landslide, rocks overflowed the road causing traffic jams, vehicles could not move.

Lo Xo Pass continues to erode
From 3 landslide locations on Lo Xo Pass on October 28, up to now, many other locations have appeared such as Km 1409+300, Km 1415+800, Km 1415+950, Km 1422, Km 1425 with landslides and traffic jams.
As for the Km 1408+900 landslide on October 28 with a volume of up to 20,000 m3 of earth and rock, the authorities handled and cleared the road on the night of October 28, but due to heavy rain, it has now collapsed again, with a volume of up to thousands of m3. The road management unit is concentrating vehicles, machines, and equipment to handle and clear the road.
As of 10 a.m. on October 29, heavy rain was still falling in the Lo Xo Pass area, with a high risk of landslides. A representative of the Kon Tum Road Management and Repair Company said that the unit is currently mobilizing 12 excavators and loaders to clear the road from Km 1425 to Km 1408 as soon as possible.
Regarding the flooded and traffic jammed areas yesterday on National Highway 1 through Hue City and the West branch of Ho Chi Minh Road, the Vietnam Road Administration said that the responsible forces have basically overcome the flooding situation and traffic has returned.
However, the Ho Chi Minh road section La Son - Tuy Loan has been opened to traffic but water and rocks from upstream continue to overflow onto the road surface, causing landslides at 3 locations: km8, km12+300, km14.

The units have coordinated with the Traffic Police and local authorities to ensure traffic safety; added barriers and signs instructing on guard duty at flooded road locations; used dredgers to level the road surface and clear drainage.
Regarding the situation of landslides on the negative and positive slopes, National Highway 1 in Hue City currently has 1 location with a 9.0 m3 landslide on the positive slope but no traffic jam. Ho Chi Minh Road (Western branch) in Quang Tri Province has a 1019.7 m3 landslide on the positive slopes in 8 locations, of which 1 location causing traffic jam is now open to traffic.
In Hue city alone, there are 50,900.0 m3 of landslides at 49 locations and 25 traffic jams. Currently, the road units have only opened traffic at 3 locations.
Immediately after the traffic jam, the units coordinated with the Traffic Police and local authorities to ensure traffic safety; added barriers and signs directing guards at flooded road locations; used dredgers to level the road surface and clear drainage.
