Duong Quoc Hoang is ready for the world 10-ball pool in Ho Chi Minh City.

The 2024 World Nine-ball Tour champion is ready to take on opponents in the world's first 10-ball pool event, which will be held in Vietnam from September 17 to 28 at the Military Zone 7 gymnasium.

On the morning of September 16, the 2025 WPA Men's 10-Ball World Championship held a press conference to announce information about the tournament in Ho Chi Minh City.

Duong Quoc Hoang and the Vietnamese male and female players are like friendly and precious hosts, welcoming the world's top players such as Carlo Biado (reigning champion), Fedor Gorst, Joshua Filler. A total of 96 players will participate in the men's 10-ball pool event.

Vietnam's top player Duong Quoc Hoang said: "I feel great when the 10-ball world tournament is held in Vietnam for the first time. This is a historic event, helping the billiard movement develop more strongly and widely, bringing excitement and new feelings to fans."

Hoang Sao (nickname Duong Quoc Hoang) and Pham Phuong Nam will be given a special ticket to the final round thanks to the Box Billiard ticket. Other Vietnamese players will participate in the qualifying round.

The qualifying round starts on September 17, the opening ceremony of the final round takes place on the evening of September 19, and the competition will last until September 28 at the Military Zone 7 gymnasium. The organizers said this is the longest billiard tournament in Vietnam with 12 days and the second longest in the world after the 10-ball pool tournament in Las Vegas (USA).

Vietnam becomes the third host country after the Philippines and the United States to organize the world billiards pool tournament. Along with the main event of Men's 10-ball Pool, there are 2 other tournaments at Military Zone 7 Stadium including:

Box Billiards Mixed Doubles Open 2025 - 10 ball mixed doubles takes place from September 17 to 19 with a total prize of 100,000 USD (more than 2.6 billion VND).

Poison Cues Saigon Women's 9-Ball Open 2025 (taking place from September 20 to 26), women's 9-ball content, with a total prize of 75,000 USD (nearly 2 billion VND).

All matches will be streamed live on the Box Billiards platform. Viewers can choose each livestream channel among the 22 tables. At the same time, fans can buy tickets through the ticketbox or at the competition venue for 200,000 VND/day (watching from 9am to 10pm) or a regular combo for 2 million or the highest VIP combo for 5 million VND.
