Technology for safety - EMCT's founding philosophy

EMCT was founded with the aim of solving one of the most difficult problems of modern cities: False fire alarms - the cause of many warning systems being disabled and causing serious consequences when a real fire occurs. According to Mr. Lee Bongho, Founder and CEO of EMCT, more than 99.99% of current fire alarms are false, causing users to lose confidence and turn off the fire alarm system. “That is the gap that EMCT wants to fill with technology. We do not create complicated technology, but technology that can save people,” Mr. Lee shared.

Instead of requiring costly infrastructure replacement, EMCT developed BDApp - a smart monitoring platform that can connect directly to existing equipment, analyzing internal signals using AI without hardware or manufacturer intervention. The philosophy of “Life-Saving Innovation” is the guiding principle for all activities of the company.

BDApp - a breakthrough in fire monitoring and building management

Launched in 2021, BDApp quickly became a turning point in the field of AI and IoT for facility management. This solution allows monitoring of the entire fire alarm system, elevators, water tanks and building utilities right on mobile phones, helping managers monitor the situation in real time.

EMCT representatives and Vietnamese partners signed a cooperation agreement to deploy BDApp solution in the Vietnamese market.

The most outstanding feature of BDApp is its ability to analyze and handle false fire alarms in less than 30 seconds. When an incident occurs, the system sends a notification to the person in charge's phone, displays the exact location on the building map, and connects to CCTV for immediate inspection. In addition, the Fire Safe Zone feature helps guide people in the building to move along the safest escape route, minimizing casualties in the event of a fire.

“We want to transform technology from a passive response tool into an active system to protect people – a move from 'fire alarm' to 'smart protection',” the EMCT representative emphasized.

From Korea to Vietnam - trust proven

In Korea, BDApp has been deployed for many large corporations such as Samsung, Hyundai, Lotte, and won the 2023 Global Social Enterprise Award, as well as the 2025 CES Innovation Award in the Smart City category. This technology has also achieved many international certifications such as CR, KC, FC, CE, and GS.

In 2024, EMCT established a branch in Vietnam, marking a turning point in its regional expansion strategy. Currently, BDApp has been deployed at Woosung Company (Hai Phong), VPI Building (Hanoi), and a number of hotels and building management businesses in Ho Chi Minh City. EMCT is also cooperating with the Multi-industry Digital Data Center (MDS) under VNPT IT to localize BDApp, ensuring compatibility with Vietnam's infrastructure and standards.

Leaders of the Government and the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam visited and learned about EMCT's smart security monitoring solution BDApp.

Vietnam - EMCT's strategic market in Southeast Asia

According to Mr. Lee Bongho, Vietnam is EMCT’s first key market thanks to its rapid urbanization, young workforce and dynamic investment environment. He said that EMCT not only brings Korean technology to Vietnam but also wants to develop solutions suitable for local conditions, towards smarter and safer urban areas.

At the Vietnam - Korea Digital Forum 2025, EMCT aims to cooperate with management agencies and businesses to expand BDApp nationwide, building a public-private partnership network in urban safety.

Vision 2025-2030: EMCT aims to turn Vietnam into a Southeast Asian R&D center, focusing on AI in smart building management, software localization, human resource training and expanding BDApp to the fields of electricity, water, energy, and elevators, helping to optimize operations and save costs.

Mission: “Every BDApp system installed is one more life protected,” Mr. Lee affirmed, emphasizing innovation for people - a spirit that is in line with the forum's goal of sustainable and safe development.
