According to Ericsson on September 12th, their new office in Hanoi is the first to be equipped with EVCN (Enterprise Virtual Cellular Network), allowing the company to manage and control 5G connectivity for mobile devices, especially 5G-enabled laptops, or IT applications in the office, via the 5G network instead of Wi-Fi.
With this event, Ericsson further strengthens its presence in Vietnam after 32 years and reaffirms its commitment to supporting Vietnam's digitalization goals.
Ericsson leaders stated that Vietnam has set an ambitious goal: the digital economy will contribute up to 30% of GDP by 2030, with 5G identified as a critical national infrastructure. Therefore, Ericsson aims to strengthen cooperation with the Government, network operators, businesses, and educational institutions to promote digital transformation in priority areas such as manufacturing, healthcare, and smart cities.
“Over the years, together with our partners, we have contributed to laying the foundation for the 2G network, gradually developing it into 3G and 4G. Today, we are proud to be working alongside Viettel, VNPT, and MobiFone in realizing the nationwide 5G network,” said Rita Mokbel, President of Ericsson Vietnam.
The new office in Hanoi also demonstrates Ericsson's commitment to contributing to the innovation ecosystem in Vietnam. Through initiatives such as the Ericsson Educate program in collaboration with the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT), the AI Lab in partnership with RMIT, and the memorandum of cooperation with the University of Transport, Ericsson affirms its continued investment in human resource development, research, and co-creation with domestic educational institutions.
