Nearly 5,000 candidates took the entrance exam to grade 6 at Tran Dai Nghia School, with a competition ratio of 1/14.

(NLDO) - On the morning of June 16, nearly 5,000 candidates were present at the survey locations to take the 6th grade entrance exam at Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School (HCMC).

Previously, according to the announcement of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, in the 2025-2026 school year, 4,851 candidates registered to take the survey, winning a place in grade 6 at this prestigious school.

In the 2025-2026 school year, Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School will enroll 350 students in grade 6, so the competition ratio to enter the school is 1/14. This is the highest competition ratio ever.

According to the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, this year is the first year that candidates will take the test according to the 2018 General Education Program. However, the content of the test will remain stable as every year, because the nature of the test over the years has always been organized by Ho Chi Minh City in the direction of assessing students' application ability.

Specifically, the survey includes multiple choice and essay sections. The survey content aims to assess the ability to use English and Vietnamese; mathematics and logical thinking; natural sciences; social sciences: history - geography; and common sense.

It is expected that on June 22, the results and benchmark scores for the entrance exam to grade 6 at Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School will be announced.

90-minute aptitude test, consisting of 2 parts:

Multiple choice section: 20 multiple choice questions (30 minutes).

The essay section (60 minutes) consists of 3 parts:

- English proficiency test (listening, reading, writing): Students take the test in English.

- Survey of mathematical ability and logical thinking: Students do the test in Vietnamese.

- Reading comprehension and writing skills test: students do the test in Vietnamese.

Based on the survey results, the Department of Education and Training will consider the list from high to low until the quota is met. It is expected that on June 22, the results and benchmark scores for the survey to enter grade 6 at Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School will be announced.
