Nearly 700 border guards help people clear temporary houses

Specifically, in the border communes of Lai Chau province, there are 2,331 temporary houses, dilapidated houses, and houses of meritorious people that need to be rebuilt or repaired. By the end of May 15, the Border Guard, together with other forces, authorities, and local people, had completed the construction and repair of 811 houses; 1,289 houses are under construction and 231 houses are about to start construction.

Of which, Lai Chau border guards alone mobilized 687 officers and soldiers to participate in 1,193 working days to help people build 174 houses . Lai Chau border guards also mobilized nearly 700 million VND from various sources to support the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the border area.

Lai Chau border guards contributed thousands of workdays to help people in the border area eliminate temporary houses.

Colonel Nguyen Van Hung, Political Commissar of Lai Chau Border Guard Command, affirmed that the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses not only has social security significance, but is also an unspoken order from the heart of each Lai Chau border guard officer and soldier and the whole country to "join hands for the poor - leaving no one behind", an important political task contributing to strengthening the all-people Border Guard posture, maintaining stability in the border area.
