The 1st Hai Phong Club Rapid Chess Tournament 2025, organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with Tung Duong Intellectual Development Company, attracted the participation of 71 clubs with nearly 700 athletes. The tournament is expected to open at 7:30 a.m. on May 25, 2025 at the Multi-purpose Gymnasium, Vietnam Maritime University (No. 484 Lach Tray Street, Dong Quoc Binh Ward, Ngo Quyen District, Hai Phong City).
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Pham Thi To Trang emphasized that the 1st Hai Phong Club Rapid Chess Tournament was organized to encourage the spirit of intellectual training, quick reflexes and strategic thinking development at all ages. This is a healthy and meaningful playground, contributing to discovering and nurturing young talents, while promoting the intellectual sports movement in the city to develop further.
The Deputy Director also assigned the Department of Sports Management to coordinate with the Department of Construction and the Department of Health to inspect and review professional conditions, facilities and arrange emergency forces to ensure safety for the tournament. The City Police force will organize traffic flow and ensure security and order throughout the tournament. Participating clubs are required to strictly comply with the tournament regulations, while the referee team must work impartially and objectively to ensure fairness, contributing to the success of the tournament./.
