Strengthening inspection, post-sale control and combating smuggling and fraud in the production and trading of fake and poor quality cosmetics

Accordingly, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Hoang Minh Cuong directed the city's Departments, branches, and District People's Committees to focus on implementing a number of contents.

- The Department of Health shall coordinate with relevant agencies and units to strengthen inspection and examination of cosmetic production and trading establishments, focusing on checking products of unknown origin, not declared according to regulations; cosmetics with false advertising, improper labeling; as well as cosmetic trading activities on the internet, social networking platforms and e-commerce platforms. At the same time, organize periodic or unscheduled post-inspections, take samples to test the quality of cosmetics circulating on the market, strictly handle violations, and recall and destroy products that do not ensure quality, show signs of being counterfeit, and are harmful to consumers.

- The City Police, the Department of Industry and Trade, the Regional Customs Department III, the Regional Tax Department III and related units closely coordinate with the Health sector in market inspection and control, promptly detect, prevent and strictly handle acts of producing and trading fake cosmetics that do not ensure quality.

- For the People's Committees at all district levels, it is necessary to proactively direct and organize the synchronous implementation of measures to strengthen the management of cosmetics production and trading activities in the area. At the same time, closely coordinate with functional agencies to inspect, monitor and strictly handle related violations. In addition, localities need to review and propose solutions to improve the effectiveness of state management in the field of cosmetics, and promptly report difficulties and problems to the Department of Health for synthesis and reporting to the City People's Committee and the Ministry of Health according to regulations.

At the same time, communication work also needs to be promoted to disseminate laws on cosmetics management to the community, businesses and consumers, thereby raising awareness, increasing vigilance and encouraging people to proactively report violations.

The Vice Chairman requested that Departments, branches and localities must seriously implement the directives, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of cosmetics management to contribute to protecting the health and interests of consumers in the city./.
