Ensuring the High School Graduation Exam and Grade 10 Admissions for the 2025-2026 school year take place seriously and safely

Attending were leaders of the Departmentof Education and Training, representatives of relevant departments, branches and People's Committees of districts in the city.

At the meeting, the City Department of Education and Training reported on the plan to organize the Exams with some new points compared to the previous school year.

For the 2025 High School Graduation Exam, candidates will take 4 subjects, including 2 compulsory subjects (Math, Literature) and 2 elective subjects in the high school curriculum. The exam is expected to take place over 2 days with 3 sessions. The graduation score is calculated based on a ratio of 50% of the exam score and 50% of the transcript score, to encourage students to maintain their academic results throughout 3 years of study, while limiting the situation of rote learning and biased learning.

Hai Phong City plans to establish 50 official examination sites and 7 backup examination sites for candidates studying under the 2018 General Education Program; 1 official examination site and 1 backup examination site for candidates studying under the 2006 General Education Program. The total number of examination rooms is about 1,350, with more than 4,200 officers, teachers and employees participating in organizing the Exam.

For the 2025-2026 school year 10th grade entrance exam, Hai Phong city has made some adjustments to increase initiative and transparency in the admission process. Accordingly, candidates register for the exam online; exam scores and benchmark scores will be announced simultaneously to ensure fairness and objectivity.

For Tran Phu High School for the Gifted, this year there will be no conditional Foreign Language exam. Admission scores are calculated based on a combination of three non-specialized subjects (coefficient 1) and the specialized subject exam (coefficient 2). For the IT specialized class, admission is based on two score combinations to ensure the selection of candidates with appropriate abilities.

Up to now, the whole city has 26,108 candidates registered to take the entrance exam to non-specialized public high schools and 1,899 candidates registered to take the entrance exam to Tran Phu Specialized High School. It is expected that the whole city will organize 43 mass examination councils with 1,103 examination rooms and 1 specialized examination council, mobilizing nearly 3,800 invigilators and about 670 examiners.

Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Hoang Minh Cuong, Head of the Exam Steering Committee, emphasized: The 2024 High School Graduation Exam and the 2024-2025 Grade 10 Entrance Exam were successful, creating trust among the people. Promoting the achieved results, this year's Exams need to continue to be organized seriously, safely, in accordance with regulations, objectively, fairly, ensuring quality and creating maximum favorable conditions for candidates.

The Vice Chairman requested the Department of Education and Training to closely coordinate with the City Police, the electricity sector, departments, sectors and localities to thoroughly inspect the physical conditions at all examination sites, paying special attention to the electrical system and fire prevention and fighting. The Department of Health was assigned to arrange medical staff at examination sites, ensuring food hygiene and safety and disease prevention. The Hai Phong City Youth Union continued to effectively promote the "Exam Support" model to support candidates. At the same time, it requested districts to establish an exam steering committee in accordance with the instructions, ensuring that all preparations are carried out on schedule, without any negligence at any stage.

The City Police proactively developed a plan to ensure security, order and traffic safety during the exam period. Sectors and localities must enhance their sense of responsibility and absolutely not let the exam organization be affected by any subjective factors.
