That is one of the contents of the Notice of Conclusion of the Scientific Workshop "Arguments for economic development in the Southwest region of Nghe An" recently issued by the People's Committee of Nghe An province.
Accordingly, on October 30, the Provincial People's Committee organized a scientific workshop on "Arguments for economic development in the Southwest region of Nghe An". After listening to reports, discussions and opinions at the workshop, the workshop accepted the following contents:
On policy mechanisms, planning and connectivity in the Southwest region:
- It is necessary to develop plans for socio-economic development in the region, linking the development of sub-regions and inter-regions. Districts in the region need to have plans to concentrate resources from a number of national target programs to focus on investing in infrastructure, fields, and regional linkage projects.
- Localities in the region need to have a program to sign cooperation agreements in advantageous fields and develop raw material areas as well as call for businesses to process products.

- There are clear policies and mechanisms in attracting investment capital into key economic sectors of the region.
- Early planning for industrialized agricultural development along the Ho Chi Minh road corridor.
- Forest development planning is integrated with the policy of planning for medicinal plant development.
- The establishment of Thanh Thuy Border Gate Economic Zone will play an important role in spreading the development of the Southwest region and neighboring areas.
Regarding infrastructure development: Increase investment in construction, upgrading and completing inter-provincial and inter-regional connecting axes in a synchronous and modern direction to solve the traffic problem between regions and localities more conveniently. Traffic and telecommunications are two priority areas in supporting the economic development of the Southwest.
