In Group A (Northern Region), the Hanoi University of Physical Education and Sports team asserted their dominance with a 2-0 victory over the Hanoi University of Industry team. The Hanoi University of Industry team's determination allowed them to hold their ground for 70 minutes, but they succumbed in the final 10 minutes with two goals from Vu Hai Tien and Nguyen Van Duy. With this win, the Hanoi University of Physical Education and Sports team secured the remaining spot in Group A for the THACO Cup 2025 Finals (the other spot was secured by the Thanh Hoa University of Culture, Sports and Tourism team the day before, by defeating the defending runner-up, the University of Water Resources).

In Group D (Southeast region), the Ba Ria-Vung Tau University team unfortunately lost on penalties to Lac Hong University, thus missing out on a spot in the Group D final, where they would compete for the single remaining spot in the final round. Previously, the Dong Nai University of Technology team defeated Binh Duong University 5-0, securing their place in the decisive match. Therefore, Lac Hong University and Dong Nai University of Technology will face each other in the Group D final, with the winner advancing to the final round.
The matches in Group B (Central Coastal region) yesterday also determined the four teams that qualified for the play-off round: Duy Tan University, Hue University, Da Nang University of Sports and Physical Education, andFPT Polytechnic College. The winner of the match between Duy Tan University and Hue University, and the winner of the remaining match between Da Nang University of Sports and Physical Education and FPT Polytechnic College, will secure their tickets to the final round.
In Group E (Ho Chi Minh City area), the fifth team to qualify for the play-offs is Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, which finished first in Group 5 (the four teams that previously qualified were Ho Chi Minh City University of Physical Education and Sports, Van Hien University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry, and Saigon University of Technology). The final three play-off spots in Group E will be decided today.
Yesterday's Group F qualifying round (Southwest region) saw an impressive 3-0 victory for Cuu Long University against Can Tho University, while Nam Can Tho University shared points with Dong Thap University in a 0-0 draw.
The Group C qualifying round (South Central - Central Highlands region) kicked off yesterday at Nha Trang University Stadium, witnessing success for the home team. Nha Trang University defeated Da Lat University 5-0, while Nha Trang Tourism College overcame Pacific University 4-0.
Today (January 11th), the TNSV THACO Cup 2025 continues with matches in Ho Chi Minh City and the Southwestern region.
