Geely Galaxy A7 - cheap hybrid sedan "eats" 2 liters of gasoline/100km

Not long after Geely introduced its flagship Galaxy M9, the company released the first images of the new Geely Galaxy A7 2026 D-segment sedan. This new plug-in hybrid sedan is one of the most affordable Galaxy models in the brand's new energy lineup, and also the most fuel-efficient.
The A7 measures 4,918mm in length and has a 2,845mm wheelbase, both of which are firmly in the D-segment. As such, it is positioned between its more premium sibling and the C-segment Galaxy L6, which uses the same powertrain. This positioning is reflected in the car's design... The car features more conventional three-box sedan body proportions and six-window side glass, rather than the sleeker Porsche Taycan-style fastback shape of the Starshine 8. Full-width light bars at the front and rear, as well as two-tone multi-spoke alloy wheels, are Geely Galaxy design hallmarks.
Inside, the simplicity continues with larger, physically adjustable air-conditioning vents nestled between a tall centre console, two-spoke steering wheel and freestanding display. There are no details on these screens yet, but the central infotainment screen is much smaller than the M9's massive 30-inch widescreen (shared with the front passengers), so we can guess a 14.8-inch screen size. Geely is advertising fuel consumption in the region of 2.0 liters/100km even on a low battery, and an incredible overall range of over 2,100km. No technical details have been released, but the car will be powered by the company's efficiency-minded EM-i PHEV hybrid powertrain, the same system found in the Galaxy Starship 7.
The car's 111PS/136Nm 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine is mated to a dedicated 11-1 electrified hybrid transmission (E-DHT), with an electric motor producing 218PS (160kW) and 262Nm. Two lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery options are on offer – an 8.5 and 18.4kWh pack that provides an all-electric range of 60 and 130km (on China's lenient CLTC cycle) respectively in the Galaxy Starshine 8.
