Vietnamese Gen Z and the trend of safe and fast online shopping

Today's young consumers have a clear vision of what they expect from payments

Người Lao ĐộngNgười Lao Động06/09/2025

The Gen Z Decoded report, a study recently conducted by Visa, an electronic payment technology company, shows that Gen Z in Vietnam often shops online, mainly at small stores or on used goods platforms, and discovers products through content on social networks.

As a result, today’s young consumers have a clear vision of what they expect from payments. Above all, they want a seamless and secure payment experience: fast in their busy lives. With a quarter of respondents concerned about fraud, trust has become a core element of the payment experience rather than just a value-add.

Gen Z accounts for about one-third of the workforce in Vietnam with more than 19 million people aged 14 to 27. Gen A is financially savvy, digitally proficient and focused on self-improvement, thereby changing the way they spend, secure and experience daily payments.
