No one knows when Ga - Phu Thuong village started making sticky rice. Thanks to the cool water of Nhi Ha river and fertile alluvium, Ga village in the past had rich and fertile rice fields. Every season, the fragrant scent of rice wafts along the Red River dike... From these fertile fields, Ga villagers grow two types of premium rice, golden flower sticky rice and sticky rice with mulberry glue, to make sticky rice. To have a pot of delicious sticky rice with the typical Phu Thuong flavor, the people here have to put in a lot of effort.
Currently, the village has 3 artisans and up to 600 families working in the sticky rice cooking profession along with a retail "system" of hundreds of people in the village bringing the aroma of Phu Thuong sticky rice to every corner of Hanoi. The lifelong sticky rice burden of mothers and sisters not only helps each family of the ancient Ga village overcome famine, but today Phu Thuong sticky rice also helps people get rich, becoming a commodity of high economic value, bringing benefits to the people and the locality.
