Trump family wishes former President Biden a speedy recovery

Former US President Joe Biden was diagnosed with prostate cancer that has spread to his bones on May 16. Biden's office said the diagnosis came after the former president was found to have a new tumor in his prostate the week before.

According to the Daily Mail, after learning that Mr. Biden had cancer, Donald Trump Jr., President Trump's eldest son, was the first person in the Trump family to send wishes for the former president's speedy recovery.

" Politics aside, we wish you a speedy recovery," Donald Trump Jr. wrote on his personal Instagram page.

President Trump and First Lady Melania were "deeply saddened to hear of Mr. Biden's diagnosis of cancer."

"We wish Mr. Biden a speedy recovery," Mr. Trump wrote on Truth Social on May 18.

Biden has made ending cancer a top priority during his presidency, relaunching the Cancer Moonshot initiative in 2022 – after first being put in charge of the effort as vice president under President Barack Obama.

The initiative aims to halve cancer deaths by 2047 and improve the lives of people with cancer.
