Extending the implementation time of the Buon Ma Thuot Eastern Bypass Project to the end of 2025

At the press conference on the morning of August 12, Mr. Nguyen Tai Minh, Deputy Director of the Dak Lak Province Traffic Construction and Rural Development Project Management Board (Board A) informed that the bidding packages No. 3 and 4 of the Ho Chi Minh Road Construction Investment Project, Eastern bypass of Buon Ma Thuot City (Project) have been extended by the Ministry of Construction to December 31, 2025.

The project is over 39 km long, with a total investment of over VND 1,841 billion. Up to now, the site clearance work of the main route has reached 99.71%, with only 113 m (0.35 ha) remaining in the section passing through Cuor Dang commune where the site clearance work has not been completed and the second canal at Km13+203.5 is still stuck for about 120 m. Regarding construction progress, the completed volume has reached 84.8%.

The first section of the Eastern bypass construction project of Buon Ma Thuot City is still stuck with site clearance work.

Regarding the location of land acquisition problems in the section passing through Cuor Dang commune, Mr. Minh informed that up to now, 33/38 households have been approved, of which 28/33 households have received money and handed over the construction site, striving to complete the handover of the construction site in August 2025 and complete the construction of the Project and put it into use before December 31, 2025.

Regarding the canal location, Board A has sent a document to the People's Committee of Ea Knuec commune requesting enforcement against 2 households, but it has not been implemented yet. Therefore, in the coming time, Board A will continue to closely coordinate with the locality to complete the procedures and resolutely enforce the handover of the construction site to ensure the overall progress of the Project.

Previously, the Department of Construction Investment Management (Ministry of Transport, now the Ministry of Construction ) had issued a document agreeing in principle to adjust the contract implementation time for construction packages of the Project before June 30, 2025. However, due to problems with site clearance during the implementation process, up to now, the Project has not completed the required progress.
