The deadline for the An Phu interchange project has been extended, with the entire project expected to be completed in Q2 2026.

The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has agreed to adjust the completion time for the An Phu traffic junction to the second quarter of 2026, instead of the original deadline of 2025. The extension is to align with the actual construction progress, facilitate the completion of acceptance testing, payment, and the remaining items.

Accordingly, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has agreed with the proposal of the Department of Construction regarding the adjustment of the construction time for the An Phu intersection project (Binh Trung ward, former Thu Duc City).

The project timeline has been extended to the second quarter of 2026, instead of the previously set completion date of 2025. Specifically, according to Decision No. 869/QD-UBND dated March 28, 2022, of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, the project implementation period was from 2021 to the end of 2025.

This adjustment is to align with the actual construction situation and to facilitate the investor in continuing with acceptance, payment, and final settlement procedures, as well as completing the remaining work in accordance with regulations. To date, the construction project has reached over 70% of the contract value.

The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has assigned the Department of Construction the responsibility for the accuracy and legal basis of the report, to preside over the appraisal and submission for approval in accordance with legal regulations, and to ensure the overall progress of the project.

The Ho Chi Minh City Project Management Board for Investment and Construction of Transportation Works (the project owner) is required to take responsibility for the accuracy and appropriateness of the data, and to promptly organize the subsequent work in accordance with the correct procedures.

The city requires the completion of the N2 bridge branch (package XL11) before December 31, 2025, and the completion of the HC1-02 underpass (package XL6) before January 15, 2026.

During construction, it is essential to ensure strict management of project quality and investment costs, preventing cost overruns and waste due to project delays, while also completing remaining items promptly for final settlement according to plan.

The An Phu interchange is a key project of Ho Chi Minh City.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction stated that the An Phu intersection project is one of the city's key transportation projects. Leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and the Department of Construction have held numerous meetings and inspected the site to resolve difficulties and obstacles, and directed the investor to accelerate progress.

To date, projects such as the Ba Dat Bridge, the Giong Ong To Bridge, and the HC1-01 underpass have been basically completed and put into operation.

According to the plan announced by the Department of Construction on December 11th, the N2 bridge branch will be completed before December 31st, 2025, and the HC1-02 underpass before February 17th, 2026… The entire An Phu intersection project is targeted for completion in 2026.
