Pig price today May 27: Increased across all 3 regions

After many quiet weeks, the price of live pigs has increased in many provinces and cities across the three regions. Notably, the new ceiling price has increased to 76,000 VND/kg.

In the North, where the market has been the least volatile in the past month, today the price of live pigs increased by 1,000 VND to a new ceiling of 69,000 VND/kg in Phu Tho, Thai Binh and Bac Giang . In addition, Ha Nam also increased by 1,000 VND to 68,000 VND/kg. This is also a common price in many provinces in the North. In some localities such as Ninh Binh, Nam Dinh, Lao Cai , Yen Bai, the price remains at 67,000 VND/kg.

Pork prices remain high as hog prices warm up

Similarly, in the Central and Central Highlands regions, the price of live pigs in low-lying areas did not fluctuate, but the price in high-priced areas continued to increase. Specifically, Lam Dong increased by 1,000 VND to 74,000 VND/kg, the highest in the region. Dak Lak added 1,000 VND to 73,000 VND/kg and Binh Dinh reached 70,000 VND. Other provinces in the region still commonly ranged from 68,000 to 70,000 VND/kg; Ha Tinh had the lowest at 67,000 VND, while in the South Central region, the price of live pigs in Binh Thuan reached 73,000 VND/kg.

Notably, the region with the highest live hog prices in the country is the southern provinces, which continue to increase. Specifically, Long An increased by 1,000 VND to 76,000 VND/kg; the livestock capitals of Dong Nai and Ba Ria - Vung Tau both increased to 75,000 VND/kg; and Tay Ninh reached 74,000 VND/kg. The remaining provinces and cities kept prices from 73,000 - 75,000 VND/kg.

The average price of live pigs nationwide is 70,700 VND/kg. In the Chinese market, the price of live pigs fluctuates around 51,800 VND/kg.

In Ho Chi Minh City, retail meat prices in distribution channels remain high, such as: pig tail 230,000 VND/kg, cutlet 114,000 VND/kg, thigh meat 147,000 VND/kg, pork belly 214,000 VND/kg, ribless pork belly 250,000 VND/kg, boneless pork leg 152,000 VND/kg, lean pork 193,000 VND/kg.../.
