Pig price developments in the North

Last week, the live hog market in the North witnessed a slight increase in some areas. At present, many provinces and cities have recorded prices reaching 69,000 VND/kg.

Prominent among the localities with high transaction levels are Hanoi , Bac Giang, Phu Tho, Thai Binh and Tuyen Quang with selling prices reaching 69,000 VND/kg.

The Northern region is recording common prices ranging from 67,000 to 69,000 VND/kg.

This situation shows that the uptrend has returned after a series of previous market corrections.

Update on live pig prices in the Central Highlands

In the Central Highlands region, the price of live pigs last week also showed a slight increase compared to the end of last week.

At present, the price of live pigs in the provinces in this region ranges from 67,000 to 74,000 VND/kg.

Some localities are holding the highest level including Lam Dong, Binh Thuan with 74,000 VND/kg; Dak Lak reached 73,000 VND/kg; Ninh Thuan is at 72,000 VND/kg; Binh Dinh recorded 70,000 VND/kg.

Overall, the market for live pigs in the Central Highlands is showing an upward trend, reflecting that the demand for pork consumption here is stabilizing again.

Pig price situation in the South

The South continues to maintain its position as the region with the highest live pig price in the country. Currently, the common price is fluctuating between 73,000 and 76,000 VND/kg, in which Long An holds the leading position with 76,000 VND/kg.

Some other provinces such as Dong Nai, Tay Ninh, Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho and Vinh Long are trading in the price range of 73,000 to 75,000 VND/kg.

After adjustments during the week, pig prices in the South have regained stability and continue to remain at high prices.

The fluctuations recorded this week show that the domestic pig market is showing signs of recovery.

As of now, the price of live pigs nationwide is fluctuating from 67,000 to 76,000 VND/kg.

It is expected that next week, the market may continue to witness some slight fluctuations as consumer demand increases while supply in some localities shows signs of tightening.

Surprise inspection in Cao Bang discovered tens of thousands of smuggled foods

On May 30, the Market Management force of Cao Bang province coordinated with the Economic Police Department, Cao Bang Provincial Police to conduct a surprise inspection of the VTC business household in Hoang Tung commune, Hoa An district.

During the inspection, the authorities discovered a total of 34,934 smuggled food products such as chicken feet, chicken wings, sausages, and confectionery of unknown origin. Notably, many of these items showed signs of spoilage and odor, posing a serious risk to consumers’ health if not promptly stopped.

Immediately after discovery, the inspection team made a record and temporarily detained all goods to serve the investigation and clarify the violations of VTC business household.
