The ceremony was held to spread the historical value of the Plei Me Victory in the resistance war against the US to save the country, to praise the heroic fighting spirit, steadfastness, intelligence and creativity of our army and people; at the same time, emphasizing the strength of national unity as the foundation of internal strength that created the victory in the past and continues to foster the cause of building the homeland today.
The event is also an opportunity to look back and recognize the outstanding achievements that the Party Committee, government and people of Gia Lai have strived to achieve over the past 60 years since the historic victory at Plei Me.
These results not only reflect the strong changes in the Central Highlands but also contribute to nurturing patriotism, fostering national pride and a sense of responsibility for building the homeland in every citizen, especially in today's youth.
The speech at the ceremony, presented by Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Council Rah Lan Chung, affirmed: The Plei Me victory is not only a resounding military victory, but also a symbol of Vietnamese intelligence, of the resilient spirit and strong solidarity of the Central Highlands ethnic groups.
That is a milestone affirming a truth: the will to win of our army and people is always stronger than any modern weapon of the enemy."
In that victory, there was the blood and silent sacrifice of the soldiers of Regiment 33, Regiment 66, Regiment 320, special forces, artillery, reconnaissance... And behind the battle line was the protection of the Jrai and Bahnar people - the people who silently sheltered the soldiers in each stilt house, guided the way through mountains and forests, shared each basket of rice, each bowl of water, and contributed to maintaining each fighting position.

The Plei Me victory was created by the steel spirit and indomitable will of our army, but above all, it was a victory of affection, of mutual support, of the steadfast belief that the people of the Central Highlands ethnic groups had in the revolution and in the Fatherland.
With such great significance, in 2009, Plei Me Victory Relic was ranked as a national relic. By 2025, Ia Drang Valley Victory Relic will continue to be ranked as a provincial relic.
This is not only the pride of the Party, government and people of Gia Lai, but also a reminder of the responsibility to preserve, embellish and promote historical values. To keep these sacred places forever as “red addresses”, as living schools to arouse patriotism, foster courage and foster revolutionary spirit for present and future generations.
Within the framework of the celebration, delegates spent time visiting the exhibition area with many valuable images, documents and artifacts, vividly recreating the Plei Me Victory in 1965, helping viewers understand more deeply the historical value, sacrifices and great contributions of generations of fathers and brothers.
The exhibition area provided a comprehensive view of the process of building and defending the Fatherland in Gia Lai through each period, from the arduous days of the resistance war to today's development.
The stories, images and precious artifacts collected evoked many emotions, helping delegates and people appreciate the value of peace more and understand more clearly the meaning of the Plei Me Victory in the flow of national history.
This activity also becomes a bridge connecting the past with the present, contributing to educating revolutionary traditions, fostering the will to rise up for the young generation, so that they can follow in the footsteps of their fathers and brothers to build Gia Lai to become increasingly rich and strong.
