In the export market, according to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), the export price of 5% broken rice from Vietnam is offered at 396 USD/ton, down slightly by 1 USD/ton compared to the previous session.

In India, the price of 5% broken rice also decreased by 2 USD/ton to 382 USD/ton. Meanwhile, the price of 5% broken rice of Thailand and Pakistan remained stable.

The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) believes that the regulation requiring enterprises to own warehouses to store rice for export is inconsistent with the market mechanism, causing costs and limiting flexibility. Not allowing warehouse rental is also considered inappropriate.

VCCI proposed removing the regulation requiring traders to stockpile at least 1,250 tons of rice for 45 days to obtain an export license, saying this puts financial pressure and makes businesses passive, especially small and medium-sized enterprises.

VCCI also proposed to remove the regulation prohibiting unlicensed enterprises from entrusting exports to licensed parties, and assessed that revoking a license simply because of late submission of a report is "criminalizing" administrative violations.
