Pepper prices today in the domestic market remained stable in some key localities, trading from 70,000 - 72,500 VND/kg.

Specifically, pepper price today in Gia Lai is at 70,000 VND/kg.

Pepper prices today in Dong Nai province (70,500 VND/kg); Dak Nong, Dak Lak (71,000 VND/kg); Binh Phuoc (72,000 VND/kg) and Ba Ria - Vung Tau are at the highest level of 72,500 VND/kg.

The Institute of Agricultural Planning and Design informed at the Conference on assessing the current status and orientation of pepper development to 2030 held in June 2023 that currently about 94% of the area and 97% of the national pepper output are concentrated in two key production regions: the Southeast and the Central Highlands.

Of which, 91.7% of the area and 93.7% of the national pepper output are concentrated in 6 key producing provinces: Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Dak Nong, Binh Phuoc, Dong Nai and Ba Ria - Vung Tau. About 92% of Vietnam's pepper output is for export.

Every year, Vietnamese pepper is exported to over 100 countries and territories, mainly concentrated in Europe, Asia and America.

According to the Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade), in July 2023, Vietnam's black pepper exports reached 10.68 thousand tons, ground black pepper reached 1.75 thousand tons, down 19.7% and 21.6% respectively over the same period last year. White pepper exports reached 1.73 thousand tons, ground white pepper reached 608 tons, up 5.4% and 6.8% respectively over the same period last year.

In the first 7 months of 2023, black pepper exports reached 113.6 thousand tons, up 13% over the same period last year; ground black pepper reached 11.75 thousand tons, down 32.2%; white pepper reached 11.61 thousand tons, down 27.4%; ground white pepper reached 3.51 thousand tons, down 18.9%.

According to information on Binh Phuoc Newspaper , according to pepper growers, this year's weather is quite favorable during the fruit-bearing and seed-firming stage, and most pepper areas in the province are growing well.

In some pepper gardens in Loc Thuan commune, Loc Ninh district, Indian pepper appears in quite even, beautiful and long chains. The number of pepper chains on a pole is also very large. Mr. Nguyen Dang Hong, a pepper gardener in Loc Thuan commune, said that the weather this year is quite favorable, so his family does not have to spend too much time taking care of it and expects a bumper crop.

After 3 consecutive years of crop failure due to unfavorable weather, this year's crop season, many gardeners in Binh Phuoc believe and expect a more stable weather, alternating rain and sunshine, and the weight of the seeds and length of the pepper string also increased compared to last year.
