Gold price today April 30: Slight increase

Domestic and foreign gold prices increased slightly. Trade tensions between the US and other countries have eased, causing gold to fall, but this has not completely disappeared, so gold remains high.

Gold ring price at high level

World gold prices increased by 5 USD, to 3,324 USD/ounce. Gold held and consolidated its price above 3,300 USD/ounce. This coincided with worrying US economic figures such as the trade deficit increased to a new record; consumer expectations fell to a 13.5-year low; the number of jobs unexpectedly decreased by 2.5% in March to 7.192 million, lower than economists' forecast of 7.48 million. At the same time, the consumer confidence index fell by 7.9 points to 86, marking the fifth consecutive month of decline and the lowest level since August 2020. The market is waiting for information this week such as the Personal Consumption Expenditure (PCE) inflation index; first quarter GDP data; non-farm payrolls report.

In his latest report on gold, Bernard Dahdah, commodities analyst at Natixis, said it was no surprise that gold prices had retreated from their recent all-time high of $3,500 an ounce as tariff tensions eased. However, trade tensions have not completely disappeared, so any new conflict would support gold and potentially push prices to $4,000 an ounce./.
