At 2:00 p.m., the price of SJC gold bars continued to increase sharply to a new record, reaching 122 - 124 million VND/tael (buy - sell), the highest level in the history of domestic gold prices.
Compared to the previous session, the price of SJC gold bars increased by 6 million VND/tael and increased by nearly 40 million VND since the beginning of the year.
Meanwhile, the price of gold rings at most businesses still fluctuates the same as in the morning.
At the end of the morning trading session, both domestic gold bar and gold ring prices skyrocketed to a new record of VND122.5 million/tael.
In particular, SJC Company listed the price of gold bars at 120.5 - 122.5 million VND/tael (buy - sell), an increase of 1.5 million VND compared to the opening price this morning and 4.5 million VND/tael higher than the end of yesterday.
For 99.99% SJC gold rings, type 1-5 chi, the current trading price is also at 116.5 - 119.5 million VND/tael, 1 million VND higher than the opening price this morning and 3.5 million VND higher than yesterday.
In just the last week, the price of SJC gold bars increased by 14.5 million VND/tael, equivalent to a net increase of 13.4%, while the increase of SJC gold rings was also 13.6 million VND/tael (+12.8%).
At other large gold companies, the selling price of SJC gold bars is currently fixed at 122.5 million/tael, while the price of gold rings has recorded a large difference. PNJ currently lists the price of gold rings at 117 - 120 million/tael; Phu Quy lists it at 118.5 - 121.5 million/tael; DOJI accepts the price of 116.9 - 119 million/tael and Bao Tin Manh Hai lists it at 119.8 - 122.45 million/tael.
Bao Tin Minh Chau is currently the enterprise listing the highest price of gold rings in the market, at 119.5 - 122.5 million/tael.
Previously, on the morning of April 22, Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) listed the price of gold bars at 119 - 121 million VND/tael (buy - sell), an increase of 3 million VND in both directions compared to the closing price of the previous session.
After SJC increased the price of gold bars, a series of other large enterprises such as Phu Nhuan Jewelry Joint Stock Company (PNJ), Phu Quy Group, DOJI Group, Bao Tin Minh Chau, Bao Tin Manh Hai... also raised the price of gold bars to the same level, currently hovering around 119 - 121 million VND/tael.
The increase not only occurred with gold bars but also with gold rings. SJC's 99.99 gold ring products of 1-5 chi also increased by 2.5 million VND/tael this morning, currently trading at 115.5 - 118.5 million VND/tael.
Other major gold companies also increased the price of gold rings by 1.1-3.2 million VND per tael this morning. After adjustment, PNJ fixed the price of gold rings at 114.5 - 118 million VND/tael; Phu Quy listed it at 117 - 120 million VND/tael; Bao Tin Manh Hai raised the price of gold rings to 118.3 - 120.95 million VND/tael.
Notably, Bao Tin Minh Chau is the gold shop that has increased the price of gold rings the most in the market, with an increase of 4.5 million VND in buying, up to 119 million VND/tael and an increase of 3 million VND in selling, up to 121 million VND/tael. This is also the highest price in the market at present.
After a plunge of VND6 million/tael on April 18, domestic gold prices immediately "turned around" to consolidate the upward momentum. In less than 2 trading sessions this week, the prices of SJC gold bars and 9999 gold rings have both recorded a recovery of VND6 million/tael.
The sharp increase in domestic gold prices is mainly due to the impact of the world market.
Accordingly, the world's precious metal price has just increased beyond the milestone. $3,400 an ounce for the first time in history as markets were rocked by President Donald Trump's renewed criticism of the Federal Reserve's monetary policy.
Currently the world gold price is anchored at 3,452 USD /ounce, an increase of more than 100 USD (+3%) in the last 24 hours. Converted to Vietnamese currency (excluding taxes and fees), the world gold price is about 108.6 million VND/tael. This price is currently 12 million VND/tael lower than the domestic gold bar and gold ring price, which is also the highest difference since mid-2024.
