Gasoline prices today May 15, 2025: All increased again

The Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance has just adjusted the retail price of gasoline and oil in the adjustment period today, May 15. The application time is from 3:00 p.m. on May 15, 2025.

Today's gasoline prices, from 3:00 p.m. on May 15, 2025, each liter of E5 RON 92 gasoline increased by 403 VND/liter, RON 95 gasoline increased by 413 VND/liter. Photo: Dinh Tuan

Specifically, the price of E5 RON 92 gasoline increased by VND403/liter, to VND19,180/liter; RON 95 gasoline increased by VND415/liter, to VND19,594/liter.

Similarly, the price of diesel 0.05S: Increased by 419 VND/liter, to 17,228 VND/liter; kerosene increased by 285 VND/liter, to 17,226 VND/liter; mazut 180CST 3.5S increased by 627 VND/kg, to 16,160 VND/kg.

Madut oil 180CST 3.5S: not higher than 16,160 VND/kg (increase 627 VND/kg compared to previous period).

In this operating period, the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance did not set aside or use the Petroleum Price Stabilization Fund for E5RON92 gasoline, RON95 gasoline, diesel oil, kerosene, and fuel oil.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the average price of finished petroleum products in the world between the price adjustment period on May 8, 2025 and the adjustment period on May 15, 2025 is: 75.493 USD/barrel of RON92 gasoline used to blend E5RON92 gasoline (up 2.213 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 3.02%); 76.993 USD/barrel of RON95 gasoline (up 2.130 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 2.85%); 78.380 USD/barrel of kerosene (up 1.600 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 2.08%); 79.113 USD/barrel of 0.05S diesel oil (up 2.343 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 3.05%); 426,983 USD/ton of 180CST 3.5S fuel oil (up 21,826 USD/ton, equivalent to an increase of 5.39%).

On the world market, at 6:00 a.m. on May 15 (Vietnam time), Brent oil price was at 66.08 USD/barrel, down 0.78%, equivalent to a decrease of 0.52 USD/barrel. WTI oil price was at 63.20 USD/barrel, down 0.75%, equivalent to a decrease of 0.48 USD/barrel.

The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) said oil supplies from the US and non-OPEC+ producers are forecast to rise by about 800,000 barrels per day in 2025, lower than the 900,000 barrels per day forecast made last month.

According to market sources citing data from the American Petroleum Institute (API), US crude oil inventories rose by 4.3 million barrels in the week ending May 9. Meanwhile, gasoline inventories fell by 1.4 million barrels and distillate inventories (such as diesel and heating oil) fell by 3.7 million barrels.

In a report published Tuesday evening, experts from Roth Capital Markets said that the decrease in oil products in the API report is a positive signal for the oil market in the long term, because it shows that supply is lower than demand.

A Reuters survey ahead of the release showed U.S. crude and gasoline inventories likely fell last week, while distillate inventories likely rose.

Previously, in the operating period on May 8, 2025 of the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Finance, gasoline prices were adjusted down, specifically the price of E5 RON92 gasoline decreased by 377 VND/liter, not higher than 18,777 VND/liter. The price of RON95 gasoline decreased by 407 VND/liter, not higher than 19,179 VND/liter.

Prices of petroleum products also decreased simultaneously. Of which, diesel price decreased by 550 VND/liter, not higher than 16,809 VND/liter; kerosene decreased by 623 VND/liter, not higher than 16,941 VND/liter; fuel oil decreased by 665 VND/kg, not higher than 15,533 VND/kg.

In this operating period, the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance did not set aside or use the Petroleum Price Stabilization Fund for E5RON92 gasoline, RON95 gasoline, diesel oil, kerosene, and fuel oil.

Since the beginning of 2025, domestic gasoline prices have undergone 20 adjustment sessions, including 11 decreases, 8 increases and 1 opposite session.
