With an expanded and upgraded scale compared to GSETS 2023, this Conference is expected to be a highly influential science and technology event, attracting the world's leading experts and opening up many opportunities for researchers to cooperate and exchange on new materials and technologies, and solutions for sustainable development goals.
The event is also a bridge to help domestic and foreign experts and scientists exchange new research directions and transfer scientific and technological applications related to sustainable development goals in Vietnam.
At the Conference, delegates emphasized that in the context of increasing climate change and resource depletion, sustainable development is not only an option, but has become an inevitable requirement.
Sustainable development is not only a strategic orientation, but also a core foundation for creating a prosperous future, harmonizing economic growth, environmental protection and social progress.

Speaking at the Conference, Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Vo Van Hoan said that the Conference is not only in line with the global trend, but also closely follows the spirit of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on developing science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation to 2030, with a vision to 2045.
This is the guiding principle for Vietnam to realize its aspiration for rapid, sustainable, independent development and deep integration, in which science, technology and innovation are the key foundations.
According to comrade Vo Van Hoan, in the orientation of modern and sustainable urban development, Ho Chi Minh City has established a clear and strong strategy in promoting science, technology, innovation and digital transformation.
One of the important milestones demonstrating this commitment is the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee's cooperation with the World Economic Forum (WEF) to establish the HCMC C4IR center.
The center is expected to be a connecting point between Vietnam and the network of experts, businesses and international organizations in the WEF ecosystem to promote policy research, technology transfer and develop new growth drivers for Ho Chi Minh City, as well as for the whole country.
In the context of a world undergoing profound transformation, the development model based on resources and cheap labor is gradually revealing its limits, so it is necessary to seek new driving forces and development models based on science, technology, innovation, especially green technology.
The GSETS 2025 Conference is a practical bridge for parties to exchange, share and connect to promote sustainable solutions, adapt to climate change, protect the environment and create a foundation for a circular, low-carbon economy.
