The domestic waste transfer point of Song Khoai 8 and Song Khoai 9 villages ( in Hiep Hoa ward) has been emitting a foul odor for a long time, greatly affecting the lives and health of the people. Voters and local people requested the ward People's Committee to support moving the waste transfer point to a location far away from residential areas , ensuring environmental sanitation and civilized living landscape in the area.

The domestic waste transfer point of Song Khoai 8 and Song Khoai 9 villages is only about 400m away from the densely populated residential area. This transfer point is located on the turnoff from the Ben Rung bridge road to Song Khoai 8 village. Here, domestic waste is collected on garbage trucks, scattered, and overflowing onto the road, with all kinds of plastic bags, plastic items, domestic waste... The strong stench and the continuous appearance of flies... have seriously affected the daily lives of the people.
Mr. Bui Cong Tu, Party Cell Secretary, Head of Song Khoai 8 Village, said: Previously, people in the village mainly traveled on the road adjacent to the N12 canal. Since the Ben Rung bridge approach road was completed and put into use, this area has become the main route for people in Song Khoai 8 and Song Khoai 9 villages. This is also the gateway to Song Khoai 8 village, where students from kindergartens and secondary schools in the area often travel. However, the landscape and air quality here are always affected by waste.

Specifically, on rainy days, garbage is everywhere, leachate flows onto the streets; on sunny days, the smell is strong. People cannot help but feel frustrated when their quality of life is not guaranteed, and their health is also affected when they have to live with the pollution. The legitimate proposals of voters need the participation of local authorities, so that they can be resolved soon, returning a clean living environment to the community.
According to information from the People's Committee of Hiep Hoa Ward, this issue has been assigned to the specialized department to inspect the actual situation and review the waste transfer points that meet the criteria for waste collection and gathering according to regulations. Waste collection teams and environmental sanitation collection cooperatives have increased the collection and gathering of waste at the right place. After gathering, waste will be collected and transported for treatment within the day, not leaving waste behind, which could potentially cause environmental pollution and loss of urban beauty. At the same time, a survey is being conducted and it is expected that the waste transfer point of Song Khoai 8 and Song Khoai 9 villages will be moved to the embankment area of the rice field in Song Khoai 8 village at present.

With the increasingly rapid urbanization, the amount of domestic waste in urban areas is constantly increasing, causing increasing pressure on the waste treatment and collection system. One of the important but often overlooked steps is the waste transfer points - where waste is collected, classified and transferred to treatment plants. Currently, many transfer points are overloaded, degraded, ineffectively operated or inappropriately planned, which will negatively affect the surrounding living environment. Therefore, expanding and renovating the waste transfer point system to be suitable is an urgent requirement that cannot be delayed; so the participation of the Party Committee and the Hiep Hoa ward government is needed.
