Vietnam exported more than 7 million tons of rice by 2025.

According to the Vietnam Food Association, as of October 15, the country's rice exports reached more than 7 million tons, worth more than 3.5 billion USD, down 4.4% in volume and more than 21% in value compared to the same period in 2024.

The domestic rice market recorded a downward price trend due to slow purchasing by export enterprises, while demand in the Asian region was quiet.

The price of 5% broken fragrant rice is currently at 420 to 435 USD per ton, the lowest in the past two months. In the Mekong Delta, the highest price of fragrant rice is 5,650 VND/kg, the average price of regular rice is more than 5,100 VND/kg; raw rice and white rice both decreased slightly.

Regarding production, by October 20, the provinces in the Mekong Delta had completed harvesting the Summer-Autumn crop with an output of more than 7.5 million tons; the Autumn-Winter crop had planted more than 763,000 hectares, exceeding the plan.

In the international market, Indian and Thai rice prices continued to fluctuate slightly, while Bangladesh increased imports to stabilize the market.
