The 43rd National Table Tennis Championship of Nhan Dan Newspaper raises the level of professional quality

The tournament attracted nearly 200 athletes from 21 professional table tennis teams across the country. The tournament was organized by Nhan Dan Newspaper in coordination with the Vietnam Sports and Physical Training Department, the Vietnam Table Tennis Federation, and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City.

"The 43rd National Table Tennis Championship of Nhan Dan Newspaper for the PetroVietnam - PVCFC Cup in 2025 this year promises high professional quality and competition because there are national players who have just undergone long-term training and competition abroad, along with young athletes who have just achieved high results at the 2025 Southeast Asian Youth Championship and the participation of many new table tennis delegations. This shows the strong development of top-level table tennis and the Vietnamese table tennis movement," said Mr. Que Dinh Nguyen - Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper at a press conference on the afternoon of May 12, 2025.

Athletes will compete in 7 categories: men's team - women's team, men's singles - women's singles, men's doubles - women's doubles and mixed doubles. This year's tournament continues to have the participation of many potential young players, who can create interesting battles to overthrow the throne against strong and veteran players of the country's table tennis, such as: Nguyen Khoa Dieu Khanh, Nguyen Duc Viet, Nguyen Van Tuan Anh...

The tournament is the basis for the Vietnam Sports Department and the Vietnam Table Tennis Federation to select top players for the national team to participate in the 33rd SEA Games and upcoming international competitions; at the same time, for delegations to prepare for the National Sports Festival in 2026 and contribute to encouraging and promoting the sports training movement in general, and table tennis in particular, of the whole country.

Along with the official competitions, the 43rd Nhan Dan Newspaper National Table Tennis Championship also organized many meaningful sideline activities to spread the message of “Sports for the community”. In particular, the “Table Tennis Beauty Queen” voting program was a highlight attracting attention, contributing to honoring the image of dynamic, modern and competitive female athletes.

Attending the press conference, People's Artist Xuan Bac - Director of the Department of Performing Arts shared that he loves table tennis very much. Since he was a child in his hometown of Phu Tho , because his family was poor and did not have money to buy a racket, Xuan Bac often used wooden boards, cardboard, and even sandals to make rackets. Because of his love, People's Artist Xuan Bac taught himself how to hit the ball. He often plays table tennis to improve his health and relax. People's Artist Xuan Bac hopes that the table tennis training movement in particular and the sports training movement in general will spread throughout the country.

The tournament was broadcast live on VTV8 channel of Vietnam Television and rebroadcast on a number of local TV channels, media on social networking platforms such as: YouTube, Facebook, TikTok and on the fanpage "43rd National Table Tennis Championship of Nhan Dan Newspaper".
