Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City visited and presented gifts to outstanding artists

On the morning of May 27, Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City Tran The Thuan visited and presented gifts to two outstanding artists who have made many contributions to the fields of traditional music and theater, People's Artist The Hien and Meritorious Artist Le Thien.

This is a meaningful and practical activity to recognize and show gratitude for the contributions of artists in general and artists who participated in the revolution, artists who won the State Prize, Ho Chi Minh Prize, People's Artist, Meritorious Artist, who have worked and contributed to the development of literature and art in the city over the past 50 years.

The visits, encouragement and gift-giving trips of the City's leaders have demonstrated the deep concern and humane and affectionate policies of the City towards artists; promptly encouraged and motivated artists, creating motivation for artists to continue their efforts to contribute to the development of literature and art in the city and the country.

At the house of People's Artist The Hien in Go Vap district, Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City Tran The Thuan visited and encouraged the musician who has many good compositions about Uncle Ho's soldiers, about brave and resilient soldiers on the border and islands, songs about the sea, islands, homeland, Ho Chi Minh City...

When he was still healthy, People's Artist The Hien was one of the "tireless birds", enthusiastically participating in business trips, returning to the source, serving soldiers, youth volunteers...

After a serious illness in September 2024, People's Artist The Hien was treated wholeheartedly by doctors and nurses at Military Hospital 175 and gradually recovered. In October 2024, People's Artist The Hien was able to return home to recuperate and receive treatment at home.

Talking with People's Artist The Hien, Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City Tran The Thuan said: "On behalf of the City Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, we respectfully acknowledge the very positive and effective contributions of People's Artist The Hien in the field of music and at the same time create inspiration for many generations of young people in the city, during the most difficult period and over the past 50 years. Up to now, many juniors have succeeded his work. We hope that he will take care of his health to continue to give suggestions to the Department of Culture and Sports, the Ho Chi Minh City Music Association...".

At the house of Meritorious Artist Le Thien, in the story, recalling the time of practicing for the 30-4 celebration program in Ho Chi Minh City, Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City Tran The Thuan expressed his respect and love for the team of hundreds of actors and artists who persevered, steadfastly, and worked together to practice regardless of day or night, rain or shine, especially the older artists, including Meritorious Artist Le Thien.

Meritorious Artist Le Thien also shared interesting stories about her career and life, from her youth to when her hair turned gray over the years. Now, despite her advanced age and weaker health, when invited to perform, the female artist still enthusiastically participates, in the spirit of actively contributing to the country's cultural and artistic activities.

On behalf of the delegation of the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City, Theater Association, Music Association, Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City Tran The Thuan sent gratitude to Meritorious Artist Le Thien and wished Meritorious Artist Le Thien good health and continued contributions to the theater field as well as other cultural and artistic fields.
