Introducing candidates to be elected as Chairman of the People's Council and Chairman of the People's Committee of Hanoi City

The Hanoi Party Executive Committee has unanimously introduced two deputy secretaries of the City Party Committee, Ms. Phung Thi Hong Ha, to be elected as Chairwoman of the Hanoi People's Council for the 2021-2026 term and Mr. Nguyen Duc Trung to be Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee.

On the afternoon of November 12, the Hanoi Party Committee voted to approve the Resolution of the 2nd Conference of the 18th City Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030.

Accordingly, regarding personnel work, the City Party Executive Committee unanimously voted to dismiss Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tuan from the position of Chairman of the Hanoi People's Council for the 2021-2026 term due to not meeting the age requirement for re-election.

Introduce to elect to hold the position of Chairwoman of Hanoi People's Council for the 2021 - 2026 term Ms. Phung Thi Hong Ha, Deputy Secretary of the 18th City Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030, Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Council, term XVI, term 2021 - 2026.

Dismiss Mr. Tran Sy Thanh from the position of Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee for the 2021 - 2026 term because he was assigned by the Politburo to hold the position of Chairman of the 13th Central Inspection Commission .

Introduce to elect Mr. Nguyen Duc Trung, Deputy Secretary of the 18th City Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030 (personnel introduced by the Central Committee) as Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee for the 2021 - 2026 term.

Vote for Mr. Nguyen Xuan Luu to cease participating in the City Party Committee's Inspection Committee and cease holding the position of Chairman of the City Party Committee's Inspection Committee, term XVIII, 2025 - 2030.

Elect Mr. Do Anh Tuan, Head of the City Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee, to hold the position of Member and Chairman of the City Party Committee's Inspection Committee for the 18th term, 2025 - 2030 term.

Adjusting the structure of the Standing Committee of the 18th City Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030. Accordingly, the structure of vice chairmen of the Hanoi People's Committee has 3 people (increased by 1 person according to the approved personnel plan); the structure of party secretaries of communes and wards is reduced by 1 person according to the approved personnel plan.

According to the Law on Organization of Local Government 2025, the Provincial People's Council has the authority to elect and dismiss the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. After the Provincial People's Council decides, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council will send the dossier to the Prime Minister for approval.

It is expected that tomorrow afternoon, November 13, the Hanoi People's Council will hold a thematic meeting (the 27th meeting) to consider and decide on a number of contents under its authority.
