Huong Binh rice variety, Summer-Autumn crop, estimated yield is 63.2 quintals/ha

On the morning of September 12, Vinh Phuc Agricultural Seed Center coordinated with Hong Quang Agricultural Materials Company Limited to organize a field visit conference to evaluate the Huong Binh rice seed production model for the 2023 Summer-Autumn crop.

In order to introduce new rice varieties with high yield and quality, suitable to the needs, climate and soil of the province, in the 2023 Summer-Autumn crop, Vinh Phuc Agricultural Seed Center has coordinated with Hong Quang Agricultural Materials Company Limited and Vu Di Commune People's Committee to deploy a demonstration model of purebred quality rice variety Huong Binh in Yen Nhien village field, Vu Di commune (Vinh Tuong) with a scale of 1 hectare.

After visiting the model, delegates evaluated that the pure Huong Binh rice variety has a short growing period (from 100 to 105 days in the Summer-Autumn crop), hard stems, large panicles, many grains, high grain density, good lodging resistance, and good resistance to pests and diseases, suitable for the local production structure. The pure Huong Binh rice variety has an estimated average yield of 63.2 quintals/ha, 13.6 quintals/ha higher than the control rice variety.

In order to continue promoting the effectiveness of the high-quality pure rice variety model, delegates proposed that the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development consider and include Huong Binh rice variety in the province's rice variety structure to expand the production area.

It is known that in the coming time, Hong Quang Agricultural Materials Company Limited will continue to coordinate with localities to expand the cultivation area of Huong Binh rice varieties, test some promising new rice varieties to add to the rice variety structure.
