Maintain the names of world heritage sites, national tourist areas and monuments when implementing administrative unit arrangement

Accordingly, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism recommends that localities keep the names of world cultural and natural heritages, special national monuments, national monuments, and provincial/municipal monuments that have been recognized and ranked.
The classification must not change the original elements constituting the relic as well as the historical, cultural and scientific values ​​of the relic according to the provisions of the Law on Cultural Heritage and the 1972 UNESCO Convention on the Protection of World Cultural and Natural Heritage.

At the same time, update the place names associated with the relic according to the newly arranged administrative unit; review and adjust the new names, place names, and addresses of the organizations, boards/centers managing the relics directly related to the administrative units formed after the arrangement.

Ensure that there is an organization or representative directly responsible for managing, protecting, and looking after the relic. Do not allow a situation where there is no or unclear person directly responsible.

Regarding tourism, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism recommends that localities keep the names of recognized national tourist areas; at the same time, update the place names associated with the tourist areas according to the newly arranged administrative units.

Regarding intangible cultural heritage, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism proposed to add the subject of review to be traditional festivals being held at relics recognized and ranked as cultural and natural heritage.
The world's special national historical heritage is being reviewed, except for traditional festivals that have been recognized by UNESCO or are on the list of national intangible cultural heritage.

Accordingly, these traditional festivals are identified at 2 levels:
“traditional provincial festival” or “traditional communal festival” as prescribed in Decree No. 110 dated August 29, 2018 of the Government regulating the management and organization of festivals.
