The discussion was organized in an "open" format, placing the voices of the young creative generation at the center, thereby demonstrating their responsibility, courage and expectations for the future of Vietnamese literature.

In his opening speech, poet Nguyen Quang Thieu, Chairman of the Vietnam Writers Association, emphasized the strong transformation of Vietnamese literature over the past half century, especially the expansion in creative scope and the team of authors.

According to him, after 1975, the face of literature and art changed completely: the creative force expanded both geographically and creatively, including southern writers before 1975, Vietnamese writers abroad and the overseas writing community. This discussion was organized to listen to the voices of young people - those who will contribute to deciding the fate of Vietnamese literature in the coming decades.

Chairman of the Vietnam Writers Association, poet Nguyen Quang Thieu delivered the opening speech at the discussion.

" The presence of young writers inside and outside the Association is a manifestation of civic responsibility on the written page. They are using their pens to touch the hidden beauty of life, confront the demands of modern society and bring honest and courageous perspectives to the country's literature, " Mr. Thieu affirmed.

Poet Huu Viet, Head of the Young Writers Committee, believes that discussing the “prospects of Vietnamese literature” cannot be without young writers. The discussion is a forum for new voices, from young members to non-member writers. According to him, the young generation has the right to make comments and assessments about the past 50 years of literature, including authors and works that existed before their birth, because they are the future of Vietnamese literature.

In the discussion, many young writers from different regions brought diverse perspectives. Writer Tran Van Thien (HCMC) raised the issue of creative freedom and "old ways" in literary appraisal. He assessed that Vietnamese literature over the past 50 years has had many achievements and great works, but still lacks breakthroughs to form new ideas. According to him, young writers need to free themselves from clichés, boldly accept new forms of exploration, and interact with world literature while still maintaining their own identity.

Writer Phung Thi Huong Ly (Tay ethnic group, Thai Nguyen ) shares her concerns when writing about mountainous areas.

From the perspective of a female Tay ethnic author of the 9X generation, writer Phung Thi Huong Ly (Thai Nguyen) shares her concerns when writing about the mountainous region. She believes that the younger generation is having to walk under the “big shadow” of predecessors such as Ma Van Khang, Y Phuong, Cao Duy Son, Duong Thuan, Po Sao Min, Inrasara…

Writer Huong Ly pointed out three “bottlenecks” of ethnic minority literature today: easily repeated themes, limited access to space, and the pressure to maintain strong identity that constrains language. She proposed that the state and literary and artistic associations expand the academic space for young ethnic minority writers through writing camps, research groups, and regular seminars; at the same time, encourage them to boldly seek new themes that reflect changing lives.

View of the discussion.

Writer Le Vu Truong Giang (Hue) sees young Vietnamese literature as a multi-colored picture, reflecting the creative aspirations of the new generation in the face of social changes.

He believes that young writers, despite differences in personal stories, share the mission of recording the moments, struggles and hopes of the nation, while also portraying the thoughts of their generation.

Many opinions contributed at the discussion agreed that in order to develop young literature, it is necessary to strengthen young writing clubs; create forums for young people to speak and be heard; promote publishing, media and award policies specifically for young authors; and at the same time build an environment of serious and objective criticism. That is the foundation for Vietnamese literature to develop more strongly in the future.
