The "Green Line" is the de facto border between the two countries, established by the United Nations, separating Lebanon from Israel and the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.

The T-shaped concrete wall erected by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has made more than 4,000 square meters of Lebanese territory inaccessible to local residents, said Stephane Dujarric, spokesman for the UN Secretary-General.
He cited information from the peacekeeping force, saying that part of an additional wall being built southeast of Yaroun also crossed the Green Line.
Mr Dujarric said UNIFIL had communicated its findings to the Israeli military and asked for the wall to be removed.

In a separate statement, UNIFIL stressed: "Israel's presence and construction on Lebanese territory is a violation of Security Council Resolution 1701 and Lebanon's sovereignty and territorial integrity."
An Israeli military spokesman has denied that the wall crosses the Green Line.
UNIFIL, established in 1978, operates in the area between the Litani River in the north and the Green Line in the south. According to the mission's website, the force has more than 10,000 military personnel from 50 countries and about 800 civilians.
