On the afternoon of September 7, the Japanese and Brazilian teams created an exciting bronze medal match that was no different from the final match. This was an opportunity for the two teams to have the joy of honor at the 2025 Women's Volleyball World Championship. Therefore, both sides played their best.
Japan is a team that deserves praise. They lost the first two sets easily with scores of 12-25, 17-25. But the Asian team still stood up, creating emotional moments.
In set 3, they woke up to lead 5-0 and won with a score of 25-19. This important victory helped the girls from Asia to boost their morale.
They continued to face many challenges in the 4th set, when the star Gabi of Brazil was in great form. The South American representative soon led 5-0, and seemed to have secured the bronze medal. But somehow, Japan did not collapse.

On the contrary, they played even better than before to unbelievably tie the score at 11-11. From here, both sides created a stalemate, chasing the score. Japan had a chance to win quickly when leading 24-23, but a confusing referee decision caused them to lose 24-24.
But the Asian team still played hard and won a thrilling 29-27 in set 4, forcing the match to go into set 5.
Here, Japan continued to have explosive, fiery moments. Striker Yoshino Sato played enthusiastically, creating match-points many times. But Gabi was still too excellent to bring a thrilling 18-16 victory for Brazil, helping them win the bronze medal.
