On the morning of October 26th, Japan successfully launched the new generation unmanned HTV-X cargo spacecraft carrying supplies for the International Space Station (ISS).
According to the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), the unit that developed the spacecraft, at exactly 9:00 AM on October 26th (local time, which is 7:00 AM Vietnam time), at the Tanegashima Space Center in Kagoshima Prefecture, the H3 rocket successfully launched the HTV-X spacecraft into orbit.
HTV-X is a new version of the "Kounotori" cargo ship, which was decommissioned five years ago.
The ship was upgraded with a lighter hull and improved systems, increasing its carrying capacity by approximately 1.5 times.
This unmanned vessel, measuring 8 meters in length and 4.4 meters in diameter, can carry over 5.8 tons of cargo.
It is estimated that the time it takes for HTV-X to move and adjust its orbit towards the ISS will be about 4 days.
The ISS's robotic arm is expected to "receive" the HTV-X spacecraft, after which the cargo spacecraft will conduct cargo transfer operations, contributing to Japan's international space cooperation mission.
