The article "Vietnam on the World Map: From Humble Presence to the Status of a Powerful Nation" by VietnamPlus Online Newspaper was awarded First Prize in the Vietnamese Newspaper/Magazine category.

This series of articles is presented in MegaStory format, aiming to comprehensively, vividly, and convincingly record Vietnam's more than 80-year journey of nation-building and national defense – from the early days of the country, when it had to overcome war and hardship, to the period of reform, integration, and strong development as it is today.
"With historical milestones, socio-economic achievements, diplomatic successes, and international integration, we realized the need for a comprehensive 'picture' to help audiences both domestically and internationally better understand Vietnam's position and aspirations. That is the motivation behind this series of articles," shared journalist Chu Thi Hong Kieu, representing the group of authors.
Regarding the highlights of the work, journalist Chu Thi Hong Kieu said: "The series of works not only discusses Vietnam from an economic or diplomatic perspective, but also traces a journey from independence, resistance, peace, reform, development, and integration. The articles help international readers, Vietnamese people abroad, or the international community to better understand a reformed, developing, and resilient Vietnam; contributing to external information work – bringing accurate, comprehensive, and distinctive knowledge about Vietnam to the world."

Leveraging its strengths, the Foreign Affairs Editorial Board of the Vietnam News Agency also won First Prize in the Foreign Language Newspaper/Magazine category this year with a series of works entitled: "Cultural Diplomacy Strengthens National Power in the Era of Emergence."
According to the authors, in the context of increasingly fierce global competition, cultural diplomacy is increasingly asserting its strategic position in Vietnam's foreign policy – a country with a thousand-year-old culture that embodies many unique values and identities, and which is increasingly attracting the interest and desire of young people to contribute.
Therefore, reporters Hong Nhung and Ngoc Ly developed this topic, gathered information, and conducted interviews with leaders of ministries and departments, international scholars, overseas Vietnamese, artists, and influential youth representatives. The message emphasized in this series of articles is that Vietnam is innovating its approach so that cultural diplomacy becomes a strategic tool to strengthen its economic and political power in the new era.
Notably, this series of articles goes beyond simply introducing cultural phenomena; it delves into analyzing policies and trends, raising questions about national identity, influence, and image in the context of integration, and offers new perspectives from various countries such as the UK, Australia, Canada, China, and South Korea.
After publication, the series of articles received attention and was published in many domestic newspapers. Simultaneously, professors from Australia and the UK shared it on social media, spreading Vietnam's cultural diplomacy message to the international academic community and friends across five continents.
This series of articles demonstrates that cultural diplomacy is not only a pillar of foreign policy, but also a lever to enhance Vietnam's position in the era of integration. When placed at the right strategic level, culture will become a powerful force for connecting and spreading the nation's influence over the long term. This is also the overarching message that the team of journalists wishes to convey to readers both domestically and internationally.
The first prize in the Book category went to the Vietnam News Agency Publishing House for its photo book “100 Years of Vietnamese Revolutionary Journalism (1925-2025)”, printed in four colors, bilingual Vietnamese-English, and 372 pages thick.

The book was honored with a congratulatory message from General Secretary To Lam in the opening section. Politburo member, Central Committee Secretary, and Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department Nguyen Trong Nghia also contributed heartfelt writings to the book. This is the first photo book on the history of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism, featuring concise articles and over 1,000 rare and valuable photographs and documents meticulously selected from various sources.
With the enthusiastic participation of major media outlets, professional reporters, and numerous authors and contributors from both within and outside the country, the 2025 National Award for External Information continues to affirm the appeal and prestige of a national-level award.
The outstanding works submitted to the competition not only contribute to disseminating official information and promoting the image of a modern, culturally rich Vietnam, but also demonstrate the determination to innovate and improve the quality of foreign information work in the new era.
