Minh Vuong 'silenced', Truong Tuoi Dong Nai lost the win

Star Minh Vuong could not shine, Truong Tuoi Dong Nai Club was held to a draw by Bac Ninh at home in round 5 of the 2025-2026 First Division.

On the evening of October 26th, Truong Tuoi Dong Nai Club played against Bac Ninh Club in Round 5 of the 2025-2026 First Division League at Binh Phuoc Stadium.

Truong Tuoi Dong Nai FC (3rd place, 11 points) and Bac Ninh FC (4th place, 9 points) are both competing for promotion to the V-League. Therefore, this direct confrontation holds great significance for both teams.

Playing at home, coach Nguyen Viet Thang fielded his strongest lineup, including star midfielder Minh Vuong – who has scored 5 goals in 4 matches – and foreign striker Alex Sandro (Brazil) in an attempt to secure a victory.

As for Bac Ninh FC, coach Paulo Foiani (Brazil) surprisingly benched foreign striker Kaina Nunes as a strategic goal-scoring option in the second half – when the home team, which already had many older players, was running out of steam.

Contrary to expectations, the first half was quite boring. Up until the 30th minute, neither team had created any truly dangerous opportunities.

The ball was mostly contested in the center circle. With the game at a stalemate, both teams resorted to long passes in attack, but these proved ineffective.

In the opening minutes of the second half, both teams played more offensively. However, dangerous opportunities remained scarce.

Notably, even when presented with scoring opportunities, the home team missed them. For example, in the 70th minute, from a cross by Minh Vương, goalkeeper Huỳnh Tuấn Linh failed to catch the ball properly, but Alex Sandro shot wide despite having an empty net in front of him.

The heavy rain on the Binh Phuoc pitch made the surface slippery, further hindering both teams' attacking plays, resulting in a 0-0 draw.

This result gives Truong Tuoi Dong Nai and Bac Ninh clubs an extra point, preventing league leaders Khanh Hoa from widening the gap (they are now only 1 point behind).

However, coach Nguyen Viet Thang and his team can hardly be satisfied, having missed the opportunity to win against Bac Ninh at home and move to the top of the table.
