The wife of 'Dwarf' Dao Hong Son witnesses her husband's failure.

The star of the Vietnamese ju-jitsu team was unable to overcome his strong Filipino opponent and had to accept defeat in the round of 16 in the ne-waza under 62 kg category on the morning of December 12th.

On the morning of December 12th, Dao Hong Son competed in his second event at the 33rd SEA Games. This was still an event outside of Son's forte, as he is originally in the under-56 kg weight class and now has to compete in the 62 kg category.

Son's opponent in the round of 16 is the very strong Filipino athlete Santino Luzuriaga.

Hong Son fell behind early in the match and was pressured for most of the game before ultimately losing.

Speaking to the press after the match, Hong Son expressed his admiration for his opponent. He said that he had to play out of his preferred position, but his Filipino opponent was truly very strong.

Hong Son maintained his usual cheerful demeanor after the second day of competition. Despite winning two gold medals at the SEA Games 31, Hong Son has yet to reach a final in any of these events.

Among those who came to cheer on Hong Son was another very special supporter: his wife.

Mai Huong is a familiar face to fans. She frequently appears in Hong Son's viral videos , contributing significantly to helping him build his personal channel with over 600,000 followers.

Mai Huong has been supporting her husband and the Vietnamese ju-jitsu team since the early days of competition. She stayed, filming and cheering on other athletes after Hong Son was eliminated in his event.

The Vietnamese ji-jutsu team was unable to win another gold medal on December 12th, as host nation Thailand proved too strong.
