Hanoi ensures safety against natural disasters during admission season

Accordingly, the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the standing agency for natural disaster prevention and control of the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue of Hanoi City, requested districts, towns and cities to monitor the developments of weather, natural disasters, incidents, instructions and guidance from the central government and the city to promptly advise and direct response; strengthen information, communication, propaganda, warnings, weather forecasts, natural disasters, knowledge and skills in preventing, responding to and overcoming incidents and natural disasters through mass media; ensure information and guidance from authorities at all levels to each village and hamlet so that students and people can actively participate and be ready to respond to natural disasters and incidents that may occur during exams and admissions.

Along with the above tasks, districts, towns and cities review, update and prepare resources according to the "4 on-site" motto, ready to deploy response plans when natural disasters and incidents occur. In particular, it is necessary to pay attention to evacuation plans and plans, ensuring safety in response to storms, floods, localized inundation, heavy rain, thunderstorms, tornadoes, fallen trees, traffic safety; direct and coordinate the arrangement of forces ready to support at examination and enrollment sites when natural disasters and incidents occur; create all conditions for exams and enrollment to take place as planned, ensuring safety against natural disasters and incidents.

Districts, towns and cities are ready to coordinate, hand over and guide commune-level authorities (after the two-level local government apparatus comes into operation) in reviewing, updating and implementing plans and solutions for natural disaster prevention and control, search and rescue according to new administrative boundaries; ensuring continuity in natural disaster prevention and control, search and rescue work for the stages before, during and after the exam and enrollment period.

The Department of Construction directs the companies: Hanoi Green Parks, Hanoi Drainage and related departments and offices to coordinate with districts, towns and cities to review, update and deploy plans and solutions to prevent and combat flooding in the inner city; prevent and overcome fallen trees on urban roads; ensure traffic safety; ensure public lighting safety, clean water supply, etc.

City irrigation companies coordinate with districts, towns and cities to review examination and enrollment sites in the area within the drainage basin of the management unit to proactively develop plans for operating buffer drainage works and plans to prevent flooding when forecasts and situations occur; effectively implement plans to prevent and combat flooding in the suburbs, ensure the safety of dams, especially pay attention to plans to ensure the safety of low-lying areas that are frequently flooded, affecting traffic safety at examination and enrollment sites in the suburbs...
