Hanoi ensures enough measles vaccines

On March 21, the Hanoi People's Committee issued Official Dispatch No. 1024/UBND-KGVX requesting departments, branches, sectors, organizations of Hanoi and People's Committees of districts, towns to speed up vaccination to prevent and control measles.

Accordingly, the Hanoi People's Committee requested the Hanoi Department of Health to direct and support medical units to speed up the implementation of the measles vaccination campaign, ensuring that by March 31, 2025, at least 95% of children aged 6 months to under 9 months in the area will receive 1 dose of measles vaccine.

At the same time, the Hanoi Department of Health ensures sufficient measles vaccines and timely distribution to districts, towns and cities for effective implementation.

The Hanoi Department of Health directed public and non-public hospitals in the city to strictly implement procedures on screening, triage, isolation, ensuring infection prevention, preventing cross-infection and preventing outbreaks in medical facilities.

In addition, the Hanoi Department of Health promptly took samples for testing and early diagnosed the causative agent to promptly deploy epidemic prevention measures; prepared medicines, supplies, medical equipment, facilities... to serve the work of admitting and treating patients with measles and suspected measles rash fever. Depending on the actual situation, units researched and proposed to deploy measles vaccination in hospitals.

The City People's Committee also requested departments, branches and sectors, based on their assigned functions and tasks, to coordinate with the health sector and related units to strengthen communication and deploy measures to prevent and control measles.

For districts, towns and cities, accelerate the implementation of the Measles Vaccination Campaign, ensuring that by March 31, 2025, at least 95% of children aged 6 months to under 9 months in the area receive 1 dose of measles vaccine.
