(NLDO)- Hoan Kiem District has a plan to expand Khanh Tiet yard of Ly Thai To flower garden towards the sidewalk of Dinh Tien Hoang street and Km0 will be located in the center of the yard.
On March 21, the People's Committee of Hoan Kiem District ( Hanoi ) announced that the district is preparing to invest in the Ly Thai To flower garden renovation project with the goal of preventing degradation, adding urban facilities and effectively promoting the historical and cultural values of the Hoan Kiem Lake area.

Accordingly, Ly Thai To flower garden is located in Trang Tien ward with an area of 10,040 m2, bordered by Dinh Tien Hoang, Le Thach, Le Lai and Ngo Quyen streets. Ly Thai To flower garden is one of the important public spaces in the center of the capital, associated with the landscape of Hoan Kiem Lake and many valuable architectural works.
Accordingly, the flower garden space will be reorganized into three main areas: Khanh tiet area, Nha Ken yard area and flower garden park area. In which, Khanh tiet area includes: Lobby, Khanh tiet yard and incense offering yard.
In addition, Khanh Tiet Stadium will be expanded towards the sidewalk of Dinh Tien Hoang Street, with Km0 located in the center of Khanh Tiet Stadium. Nha Ken Stadium area: Re-plan the green tree and grass system and Nha Ken Stadium area to increase the usable area.
Flower Garden Park area, organize space along 2 main axes, including: Trumpet House - State Bank axis; President's Office - Children's Palace. Expand the middle yard to organize activities. Arrange water music system along the East - West axis. Add public toilets and a tourist information center in this area.

Expand the flower garden space connecting with Le Lai, Le Thach and Dinh Tien Hoang streets. Paving the flower garden area and the roadbed of Le Lai and Le Thach streets; painting and paving the roadbed of Dinh Tien Hoang street to connect the flower garden area and Hoan Kiem Lake.
Replace shade trees, remove unsuitable trees, plant additional trees to increase shade area and landscape of flower gardens; add landscape lighting systems and urban equipment to meet new usage functions.
Installing the Km0 milestone at the center of Khanh Tiet Stadium with the consulting unit being the group of authors who won the first prize in the Km0 Milestone Design Competition organized by Architecture magazine - Vietnam Association of Architects and Hoan Kiem District People's Committee in 2020.
The first prize-winning team from Hanoi Architectural University with an entry titled Gate of Light. Taking the Vietnamese philosophy of round sky and square earth, the team designed the milestone as a square bronze plate cast in one piece with a circular center representing the capital Hanoi. From here, the surrounding grooves radiate like a thousand-mile road. The team also incorporated lighting technology for day, night and major holidays to highlight Km0 without affecting the space of the Ly Thai To monument.
Project construction is expected to start in April 2025 and be completed in October 2025.
