Hanoi creates all conditions to organize events to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Mexico diplomatic relations.

Thanking the Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee for taking the time to receive the delegation, Ambassador Alejandro Negrín Munoz shared that Hanoi has many similarities with Mexico City.

According to the Ambassador, 2025 is a pivotal year for Vietnam and Mexico, the two countries will celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations. Ambassador Alejandro Negrín Munoz said that Mexico is the largest importer of Vietnamese goods in the Caribbean and Latin America, and the economic relationship between the two countries is increasingly strong. In November 2024, on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in Brazil, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum met with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. The Mexican Ambassador said that this is a testament to the sustainable political relationship between the two countries.

Informing Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh about the development of Mexico City in recent times, Ambassador Alejandro Negrín Munoz said that this capital city has 25 million people, is a large urban area, developing in many fields such as transportation, water resources... and hopes to have many opportunities to cooperate with Hanoi in the future.

In particular, in 2025, the Embassy has many programs to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Mexico, including an exhibition called "Journey to Ancient Mexico", displaying artifacts of Mexico's ancient civilization. Ambassador Alejandro Negrín Munoz hopes that the exhibition will attract the attention of Hanoians as well as Vietnamese people, and at the same time, expressed his wish that the city government will support and create conditions for the exhibition, scheduled to take place on May 19, to be held in the Hoan Kiem Lake area.

Thanking the Mexican Ambassador for his suggestions, Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh emphasized that this year is a special year in the relationship between the two countries, and Vietnam highly appreciates Mexico's sentiments. In this spirit, he welcomed the Embassy's idea of ​​organizing an exhibition and assigned relevant departments, agencies and sectors to support and create the best conditions for the event to be successful.

Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh also pledged that not only this event, but also other events related to the celebration of diplomatic relations between the two countries of the Mexican Embassy, ​​the Hanoi City government will support and coordinate the organization.
