Thousands of functional food boxes dumped in Quang Ninh

On the morning of June 18, residents living near Tuyen Than Street, Hong Ha Ward, Ha Long City discovered thousands of boxes of functional foods dumped in the residential area's landfill.

The incident was then reported to the authorities by the people.

Immediately afterwards, the inspection team arrived at the scene to verify and count these functional foods.

At the scene, thousands of functional food boxes were collected and filled 13 garbage trucks, waiting for authorities to come and inspect.

These unused boxes of dietary supplements are mainly syrups, bird’s nest drinks, cordyceps, and vitamin supplements. In addition to the above dietary supplements, the authorities also discovered hair dye, deodorant sprays, etc. at the landfill.

It is known that all of the above functional foods have expired.

A representative of the Quang Ninh Province Market Management Department said that it is not yet confirmed whether the above functional foods are fake or not because they need to be checked and reviewed. Through initial inspection, the above products have all expired.

Ms. H. (a resident in the area) said that at around 9pm yesterday (June 17), while taking her child for a walk, she saw two people (1 man, 1 woman) repeatedly using a cart to carry the functional foods to the landfill. After dumping them, the two people quickly left.

Currently, the origin of all functional foods is being checked.
