Thousands of people joyfully carry Buddha's relics around Hoan Kiem Lake
Thousands of monks, nuns, Buddhists and people happily joined the procession of Buddha Sakyamuni's relics around Hoan Kiem Lake (Hanoi) on the evening of May 13.

At around 7:00 p.m., the procession carrying Buddha relics began moving from Quan Su Pagoda (Hoan Kiem District). The delegation had the participation of many monks, nuns, Buddhists and people in Hanoi city. The group moved on the streets: Ly Thuong Kiet, Hang Bai, Dinh Tien Hoang, Le Thai To, Ba Trieu, Ly Thuong Kiet and to Quan Su Pagoda. Participating in the procession were monks, nuns, Buddhists, ceremonial vehicles, vehicles carrying flowers, vehicles carrying Buddha relics... The procession of Buddha's relics is an activity within the framework of the 2025 United Nations Vesak Festival for people and Buddhists to worship. This is an opportunity for Vietnam to introduce the image of a country and people who love peace , friendliness, solidarity... to international friends. The success of the 2025 United Nations Vesak Celebration affirms to the international community the consistent policy of respecting and ensuring freedom of belief and religion of the Party and State of Vietnam. The car decorated with colorful flowers carries monks and nuns… … moving on Ly Thuong Kiet street (Hoan Kiem district). Everyone sincerely worshiped Buddha... … and joyfully welcomed the procession as it passed. The procession of Buddha relics moves on Dinh Tien Hoang street. Lion dance teams create a joyful, bustling atmosphere. National flags and Buddhist flags fluttered on each route the procession passed. The Buddha's relics will be enshrined at Quan Su Pagoda from May 13 to 16. Opening hours for Buddhists and people to come and worship are from 7:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. from May 14 to 16. After that time, the Buddha's relics will be brought back to Tam Chuc Pagoda ( Ha Nam province) for enshrinement from May 17 to 21. After that, the Buddha's relics will return to India.
