Hundreds of businesses 'join hands' to stimulate tourism in Sa Pa

Up to 50% off many services

Towards the 120th anniversary of Sa Pa tourism, on March 31, the Lao Cai Tourism Association (HHDL) together withSun Group in the Northwest region organized a Tourism Stimulus Cooperation Program. The program had the participation of more than 60 tourism service businesses in Sa Pa town, with the aim of committing to offering incentive programs and discounts throughout 2023, attracting tourists to Sa Pa, Lao Cai.

Accordingly, tourism businesses such as hotels, homestays, car companies, restaurants and tourist destinations all agreed and committed to offering preferential price policies from over 10% to over 50%, to thank tourists on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of Sa Pa tourism.

In particular, Sun World Fansipan Legend tourist area launched a big promotion, reducing cable car tickets by more than 50% for tourists from 6 Northwestern provinces and 15% for domestic and international tourists in general. Specifically, tourists from Northwestern provinces such as Lao Cai, Lai Chau, Son La, Dien Bien , Yen Bai and Hoa Binh will receive a discount of 300,000 VND/person. Tourists from other provinces and international tourists will receive a discount of 120,000 VND/ticket or a combo ticket and lunch buffet. The program applies from April 3 to May 19, not applicable on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

Many large hotels such as Chau Long, Hotel Dela Coupole MGallery, Sapa Garden Hotel, Sapa Paradise Hotel... have room or food price discounts from 12% - 30%. Interbus Line offers free tickets for children under 12 years old. Sao Viet offers discounts for groups of 12 or more. The discount programs of the bus companies apply on weekdays from Monday to Thursday.

Some restaurants such as Huong Rung Sapa, Le Gecko, BBQ Tra Phuong Quan... have a preferential policy of 12% discount on the bill for groups of 12 people or more, applied from Monday to Thursday of the week.

Mr. Tran Son Binh, Deputy Director of Lao Cai Department of Tourism, shared that in 2023, Lao Cai province will organize the program "Celebrating 120 years of Sa Pa tourism". This is a particularly important event, with profound political, economic, cultural and social significance for Lao Cai tourism industry, affirming the position of Sa Pa tourism with 120 years of development, now becoming a national tourist area, one of the highlights of Vietnamese tourism. "We believe that the stimulus cooperation program is an initiative, a beautiful, practical, very meaningful activity, in lieu of gratitude, honoring the love and support of tourists for the dreamy land of Sa Pa over the past time", Mr. Binh said.

Mr. Pham Cao Vy, Chairman of Lao Cai Tourism Association, committed to properly implementing the gratitude programs, providing full services and time as registered.

"In addition, we are also committed to providing the best service, showing friendliness, politeness, willingness to help tourists, improving the knowledge of service staff, especially for staff who regularly have direct contact with customers. We understand that gratitude and preferential treatment for customers must always be associated with building new products and improving service quality to build a civilized, methodical, and professional tourism culture, so that tourists increasingly love Sa Pa, and choose Sa Pa as a destination because of trust," he said.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Chien, Chairman of Sun Group in the Northwest region, said that the successes of previous tourism stimulus campaigns were all thanks to the attention of authorities at all levels and the proactive and active response and participation of businesses in Sa Pa town as well as Lao Cai province. This stimulus cooperation program will be one of the extremely meaningful activities, not only creating a strong media effect, attracting domestic and foreign tourists to Sa Pa, Lao Cai but also showing gratitude to tourists, contributing to expressing the friendliness and hospitality of the destination Sa Pa with a 120-year history.

Series of events and festivals throughout the year

In addition to the discount program and service incentives, on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of Sa Pa tourism, Sa Pa organizes a series of cultural, artistic activities, large-scale, unique and impressive events throughout 2023.

Specifically, from April 20 to 22, the People's Committee of Sa Pa town will accompany businesses to organize the Mau Son, Mau Thuong and Mau Fansipan Temple Festivals, with folk rituals and offerings at Mau Thuong Temple; palanquin procession from Mau Son Temple to Mau Thuong Temple and the 3rd Mother Goddess Worship Practice Festival in 2023.

Next, April 22-23 will be the first ethnic cultural festival in Sa Pa town, recreating the cultural space of 5 ethnic groups in Sa Pa through traditional house models, market sessions, and cultural and artistic activities of ethnic groups; games, folk performances of Sa Pa ethnic groups.

The highlight of this year's summer event series is the Rose Festival, organized by Sun World Fansipan Legend tourist area from April 26 to May 30. This is the second time the festival has been held in Sa Pa, promising to impress with its elaborateness and grandeur. The festival will be opened in the largest rose valley in Vietnam at the Fansipan cable car station. On this occasion, along the central streets of the town, there will be a parade of horse-drawn carriages, antique cars, and electric cars decorated splendidly with fresh roses. Along with that will be performances by local artists and actors, creating an impressive combination of modern and traditional culture.

The Rose Festival will return on April 30, promising to bring unforgettable experiences to visitors.

Coming to Sa Pa in August, when the terraced fields are about to enter the ripe rice season, visitors will attend the opening ceremony of the Autumn Festival "Sa Pa - Golden Harvest Festival" with a fashion show of Ao Dai and brocade inspired by Sa Pa brocade, ethnic minorities in the Northwest, Sa Pa VMM 2023 International Mountain Marathon and the largest full moon festival in the Northwest during the mid-autumn festival.

In winter, Sa Pa is no less attractive with the Fansipan Winter Festival 2023 and a series of interesting performances taking place throughout the festival. In addition, visitors can also experience a space filled with white snow like Europe at the Lao Cai Provincial Tourism Promotion Center. Walking on the "snowy" road, admiring ancient villas and beautiful fairy-tale gardens, these experiences promise to bring visitors unforgettable photos and memories.

Festival programs, special events held throughout the year, and cooperation programs to stimulate demand that receive strong response from the business community will be a "push" for Sa Pa tourism to quickly break through, achieving the goal of welcoming 3.5 million visitors in 2023.
