For the past two days, households here have kept their doors and windows closed to prevent the fishy smell from entering their homes. Mr. Phan Cong Duc, a resident of Block 1, Cua Nam Ward, said: "I have to wear a mask when sitting at home, even when sleeping, because I can't stand the fishy smell." Photo: Thanh Phuc

Every year, fish deaths occur 4-5 times, especially after heavy rains. However, this time, the number of dead fish is the largest, densest and longest along the Citadel moat. If the water pollution is not thoroughly handled, the fish deaths will certainly continue, especially during the rainy season. Photo: Thanh Phuc
